THE PLAYCRATE
This project is an exploration of what a civic center is and what it could be in this renaissance of architectural boom. In this exploration of spaces and their relationship, this design consists of three distinct spaces during the winter, a greenhouse, Ice-skating rink, and produce market that emerges as a result of the greenhouse farming which during the summer transforms into a pool, basketball court and a cafe. BAILA CONMIGO ART DIRECTION
BAILA CO “Baila Conmigo” is the thesis project of the fashion deisgner-Valeria Watson. Valeria and I had been collaborating on multiple projects before we started the art direction for Baila Conmigo. Baila Conmigo is Spanish translates to “Dance with me” The art direction for Baila Conmigo started amidst the lockdown and therefore we resorted to getting creative with our already existing resources, using drapes and existing fabric scraps and manipulations to set the background for go with the theme of party.

The budget was a concern but overall it taught me the details that go behind creating content/image, and the hardwork that goes into every little part of the process. It brought out in me the love of collaboration and having the freedom of creative expression and total control of how we as artists wanted the results.
DISRUPTIVE DESIGN
*Disruptive Desgin Housing competition entrance in collaboration with fellow architect Cecilia Liu
Disruptive Design is a three-part design competition that seeks to address the challenges associated with designing and building affordable, owner-occupied housing. The competition was initiated by the Chicago Housing Policy Task Force The notion of home exists because occupants have sentimental regards to the roof above their head. The occupants however, are accountable for the maintenance of intimacy within the space, while it is the designer’s responsibility to create and curate a space of value for whoever takes ownership. Historically speaking, public housing in Chicago are infamous for their design, maintenance, and reputation. Cheap and redundant materials will result in cheap and redundant design, and only time can tell. The goal is to be economical, affordable, and sustainable, however this list comes with a price. Thus, it is only accurate to call it an investment. Understanding that our proposal calls for unconventional housing features, our agenda is to create a design that will stand the test of time, hoping that homeowners of mixed-income community will pridefully call it home. A home that is an investment that will reap what is sows. Design for a Mirror and wall screen for a client looking to design a bar in Pilsen neighbourhood, Chicago. Since the Pilsen neighbourhood is occupied by a majority of mexican inhabitants, our client wanted to bing in a mexican touch to the bar. The motif used in the creation of the screens have been outlined from traditional mexican patterns used in tiles. The outlined motif is then multiplied and eroded as the patterns seem to grow into the wall from dense to vine like climbers. Wall Screen: The wall screen is a 4 layer lasercut panel that is stacked such that it erodes both vertically and horizontally as we move away from the origin. Each of these layers are a complex iterations of one another to perform this eroded wall.
