Hello, for this month’s fan art we are featuring the very talented Rachie, artist, writer and creator behind the Alibi For A Miracle series on Tumblr!
Izzy: Hi Rachie! Thank you so much for agreeing to this feature! Would you mind telling us a little bit about yourself?
Rachie: My name is Rachel, I am 27 and my pronouns are she/her. I am an introverted girl who loves true crime documentaries. Not super original, I know! I am currently living with my sister and our amazing senior dog, Missy, in my home country of Canada! I am relatively new to simblr, I was searching for a creative outlet to help me with my mental health and as soon as I realized how active the community of simmers on Tumblr was, I happily joined in! I have made some awesome connections in the community and I have also really enjoyed being creative with editing and writing my story, Alibi for a Miracle, starring the “muse” of my blog, Amelia
Izzy: Speaking of your story! We absolutely fell in love with it, and I think it's safe to say everyone adores Amelia! But for those that aren't as familiar would you mind telling them a bit about your story?
Rachie: AFAM (Alibi for a Miracle) is essentially about the idea that you can cut and run from your own entrenched identity, but that it'll always find you again in the end.
Izzy: Right! That's truly amazing, I personally have been following this story pretty much from the start, so I'm very curious to know what inspired your story?
Rachie: I was thinking about the idea of “escaping” a lot during the height of the pandemic, as I am sure many of us were. I also reflected a lot about the first half of my twenties and how much I struggled to find identity and often relied upon the people around me to define me. I think Amelia really struggles to understand herself or where she fits, and I can really relate to that.
Izzy: I agree, I think that is definitely something a lot of people can identify with. Would you say your artistic inspiration follows that same vein, or what would you say your artistic inspiration is?
Rachie: As cliche as it is, my biggest inspiration is my own life. I can easily draw from personal experiences in all of my creative endeavors. Even my own “fantasies” can inspire me to create something.
Izzy: I do have to say, your writing is truly inspired and comes across so professional. Have you ever done anything like this in the past, or is this your first project?
Rachie: I have in the past, yes. I have been a part of a few fandoms throughout my teens and twenties that have become avenues for similar expression to what I am currently doing on simblr. My primary passion is actually video editing, but unfortunately, I haven’t had the resources to get back into that.
Izzy: And what made you decide to use the sims in your storytelling?
Rachie: I got the Sims 4 games last year during the pandemic and within five months, the game lost its appeal to me because of the amount of glitching I was experiencing. I still had an affinity
for my sims, though. So I thought that instead of just abandoning the game and my sims that I love, I would join simblr and focus on a story. I decided that the youngest daughter of the household I was playing at the time, would be the main character/muse for my simblr. And that’s how I chose Amelia!
Izzy: What an incredible idea! I know a lot of simmers experience burnout to some extent! While we're on that topic, how long have you been playing The Sims?
Rachie: I played the sims when it first came out. I was seven years old! Then The Sims 2 came out and I was just in love with that game and played it for many, many years. No offence to The Sims 3 community but I just couldn’t get into it! The sims don’t look like sims to me. But I do own almost every Sims 3 game lol maybe it’s worth another go?
Izzy: Perhaps! I think that could be quite interesting for your followers to hear your opinions! Anyway, I would like to know, what is your favorite Sims 4 pack thus far?
Rachie: Parenthood! It’s a must-have. I have never played TS4 without it but I cannot imagine the game without it. It’s essential, in my opinion, and therefore
my favorite!
Izzy: I think I would have to agree with you on that one, haha. Well, thank you again so much for doing this feature with us! Do you have any parting words for our readers?
Rachie: I would like to thank you so much for featuring me and I would love it if you would check out my story, Alibi for a Miracle on my simblr, it would mean the world! Thank you
Very special thanks to Rachie! Make sure you follow and check them out on their Tumblr; Adore Amelia (http:// adoreamelia.tumblr.com).

∙ This does not work well in furniture. You have to use T.O.O.L. to move them, which I will cover in next month’s issue.
