YOUR JOURNEY STARTS HERE
BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS
BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS
Your life’s work is more than just a job or profession. It’s where your talents, your passions, and your potential meet. It’s how you engage with and enrich your relationships, your community, and the world.
Just as your life’s work is more than your job, a Simmons education is more than just career preparation. Here you'll explore your interests with rigorous courses and thoughtful discussions, have life-changing experiences, and make friends who will be with you for the rest of your life.
Beyond our campus, you’ll find all of Boston open to you. You'll have access to internships, clinical placements, job opportunities, countless social and cultural events and institutions, and everything else that a big city can offer. Most importantly, you'll get to see how your work and passion can make the world work better.
So take in the lights, lose yourself in the library or labs, or just relax on the quad. It's all part of your journey.
Simmons is only one of 25 US colleges and universities to receive the first Carnegie Leadership for Public Purpose Classification. This classification recognizes institutions that have committed to campuswide efforts to advance leadership in pursuit of public goods like justice, equity, and diversity.
Joining Simmons means joining a group of likeminded people committed to community, social justice, and making the world work better. Since our founding as a women’s college, our students have challenged traditional gender norms. Today, our community welcomes all marginalized genders, including students who live and identify as women or who do not fit into the gender binary, but feel they belong in our undergraduate women'scentered community.
To help you grow and develop as a leader, we believe it’s important to immerse and engage you in programming, scholarship, and activism that broadens your worldview. At Simmons, this can take the form of conferences, speaker programs, mentorships, internships, research opportunities, and more. To this same end, we have also broadened the scope of our academic curricula and community outreach to reflect and be informed by the intersections of race, class, ethnicity, and gender identity.
“Simmons has been instrumental in shaping me into a confident and effective leader. Throughout my time at Simmons, I’ve learned that leadership extends beyond formal titles and positions; it's about recognizing opportunities to enact positive change and taking the initiative to address them.”

Our professors are thought leaders and award winners, researchers and professionals in their field. And when they say their door is open, they mean it! At Simmons, you'll get to know your professors on a one-on-one basis. They'll support and guide you through your academic journey and beyond, and you'll find there are ample opportunities not only to talk with them and learn from their expertise but also to tackle problems, projects, and research right alongside them.
In the SURPASs program, you can apply to work with a faculty member on a paid and mentored summer research project or creative experience. During the program, you'll develop a project focus, objectives, timeline, and budget, along with a detailed mentoring plan. Past project topics have ranged from chemical engineering and laboratory research to urban archival work.

We’ve also added modernized and colorful study and lounge spaces, a new multicultural center, new media center, and a maker space.
The final stage of the One Simmons project is the construction of the living and learning center. This new residence tower will provide a modern, contemporary, and elegant 1,100-bed residence, a brand new athletic center, and new dining facilities for our students.
