What it takes to be a delegate at National Congress 2016?
Message from MC 16/17
Dear Delegate, Welcome to one of the most exciting time in the year. We, the AIESECers, are preparing the winter, planning to plan to years in front of us, wondering what happened exactly on IC… in general we are full with thoughts and our actions are not really coordinated. Now may be the question is “how do we start”.. or “what do we start”… The question that your MC is asking is “how do you wanna feel at the end” of your EB term or project. Becoming a youth leadership movement doesn’t just happen overnight. It starts with people, it starts in you. It starts by truly practicing what we preach and living it every day before we ask others to do the same. The transformation of an organization starts with the transformation of its people. Obviously, it comes with growth pains and facing these pains calls for resilience, taking risks, and solution orientation. At this National Congress, we call upon the organization to convert uncertainty into curiosity and ideas into action. It's on us to set the tone for the years to come and there's little room for fear but enough room for freedom. Along the way, we may fall, and that's okay, as long as we learn from it and get back up. It's about embracing a beginners mindset. Being the first generation of to implement the mid-term ambition is a privilege and calls for us to act responsibly and sustainably. It's not just about out terms as MC or EBs but it's about the next 5 years. Realizing that this movement is bigger than ourselves is going to be key in shaping an AIESEC that grows from strength to strength. Every action we take will be felt in the success of AIESEC 2020. It's going to be a hell of a journey and we are excited to be leading it with all of you. It's going to be challenging, but challenges are what we came for! United we are standing on shoulders of LIONS!

I understand the reason why AIESEC was created and why it still exists. I know how AIESEC (AI, MC and LC) contributes towards 2020. I see where AIESEC is right now. I see how I can use NC 2016 to the fullest. This is the place where I get what I was missing as knowledge and I am sure that AIESEC is the right place for me.

I lead my own experience. Day 2 is has of separate tracks in the over all tracks of B2C, B2B, TM, VD & F&L. There are keynotes, questions and answer throughout the day delivered by MC. You are not defined to one track and you are free to pick your own journey. After a long day of getting knowledge and developing different competences you are free to spend time with your LC.

You can use for developing yourself as a leader. You will have the chance to understand how you being a leader can contribute to your entity and how by that your entity can contribute to your country. It’s the last day of National Congress. One final session together to debrief the entire conference and as an entity discover how we can progress and saying goodbye.
Major Expectations National Congress is formed on the principles of a self driven delegate experience. If you are satisfied after the conference it means that YOU have been acting as a leader. This conference is not only for you to get but also to start giving. You are the ONE who is the main responsible for United AIESEC Bulgaria. • Less than 30 % of the agenda is with the whole plenary together, most of the agenda will be in separate workshops & working spaces. • Every delegate will have a different experience. • There is no handholding in this conference. • If you as a delegate don’t know what you want to get out of the conference, you might get lost in the agenda. • Your objectives for the conference will define your conference experience. Eg. You can have a great party or a great learning experience. It depends on your objectives as an individual and an entity. Yes, this time it’s really up to YOU!
So what should I do?
Food for thought 1. The NC agenda only has 30% of the sessions together with more workshops, more bottom up spaces etc. So what should I do to prepare myself for the conference. How I am going to contribute to the conference. How will I contribute to myself, my entity, my country, the world. 2. National Congress 2016 is not about getting answers from MC but leveraging off peer-to-peer learning. What preparation should my entity make to fully utilize NC? What can I give to other LCs? 3. How can I ensure that my delegation is contributing to the agenda? How can I ensure that all of us, the members of AIESEC in Bulgaria are on the same page and we are fully contributing to our country?!
