“Popeyes. Probably the most disgusting fast food chain in the family of American fast food chains. That is an achievement. Probably even an honor.”

“My friend asked me to try it, since he is a loyal customer. However, it was quite a traumatic experience. Still today, our relationship suffers from trust issues. It was not only traumatic for my taste buds, but for my stomach as well. To put this in sensible words, my body rejected in. In many ways. But maybe it was the many beer bongs I had later consumed.”

“So when we were on the road, in the car for many hours at a time, we finally decided to stop for lunch. At Bojangles. Popeyes cousin from the South. I should have known better than to trust Eric again. Expectations were low, stomach was already upset before the first bite. But I managed. It will hopefully be the last time.” 11/

“ St. Patricks Day. I believe know body actually knows what it is about. Irish, green, a reason to drink a lot of beer, another excuse to celebrate. Savannah is a gathering spot for anybody who wants to celebrate another holiday they actually don’t know anything about. We encountered anything from horses to green men, who would rather not reveal their identity, in case they ran in to their boss. However he was revealing a little too much of other things. So why not pose with him?”

“Saint Patrick’s Day is a yearly holiday celebrated on March 17th. It is named after Saint Patrick, the most commonly recognized of the patron saints of Ireland. It began as a purely Catholic holiday and became an official feast day in the early 1600s. However, it has gradually become more of a secular celebration of Ireland’s culture. It is a public holiday on the island of Ireland. It is also widely celebrated by the Irish diaspora, especially in places such as Great Britain, Canada, the United States.”- Wikipedia

“Before leaving for the day we start looking for the car keys. Everywhere. In the kitchen, on the shelf where they always are, the bathroom, all pockets. After failing we start believing they are locked in the trunk. It then breaks out into a mission of breaking in to the car, without setting of the alarm, and retrieving the keys. Everybody whips out their Iphones, Blackberry and anything that connects to the Internet: ‘How to break in to a Toyota Camry?’ A group of us decide to go to the campus security office, demand help. However, since the car isn’t even located on campus they are not willing to help. Eric fails at attempting to break in google- style. Clueless we enter and settle in the house, just to find the keys laying on the shelf, where they always where, where they had been all along.”

i am but atown. ghost

i can’t take my ear off the line, even as the tone is ringing on end, i am hoping that i could one day hear the enunciation of your breath. and often times i wonder...what’s the use of it all? listening to the same song, reveling in nostalgia, all of it long gone. we’ve grown so old, we’ve grown so tired. walking past and past and past the idea of amends.

going;;;

i just want to go everywhere, here or there clothed or bare. contigo or not, i don’t care. i always let the bad things get me. fretting, carefully, cautious, gently. i am such an angry person, why can’t i just loosen, let me. i just want to not eat nothin’, get fat on dreams, lies lay down, drifting, moving. grooving, scheming, fleeting, cheating, tongue tastes wild, grass is heaping. two points, two rocks, two fingers thrown up, love made, good again, next time, next step, fight me, repeat again. long strands, closed doors, skin tight, cut cord. your brain is whispering and my ears can’t hear again. lips taught not to flutter, heart crossed, bitter, banter. pitter, patter, never, ever ever saying just to listen.

her bed.

the thought of sleep is cloudy, clouding my ideologies and my mind lies laced with blowing tendencies, telling me, heavily, to stay awake. but still there are the futile, life-like shadows luring my eyelids to close, as i trudge on, despite your grudging shoulder that nudges me, constantly, without reason‌ categoricallly ignoring the root of the trees that get me fucked up. the ones that make me realize that i need to sleep and move on. ....

i look different in every mirror so how am i supposed to endeavor what i’ll look in the future, is this forever? we only speak pretty words to eachother, quaint and quite daintily tip toeing across the shape of the lake that sits still in its frozen atmosphere. i take it dear, that you have so much you want to let go of but you’re afraid of the consequences of letting the world go.

i say i only have the best interests for you but i can assuredly say my best intentions are selfish, mentioned so that you would never question the extent of the time, i give you, my dear. and i’m not saying that my love is false, for it is so true. how hard can i express what i feel when you tell me i’ll heal. you don’t know what you quite do. and please, please don’t call me miss yoon. because miss is a positive misconstrued notion of the possible hit and you miss and in the end i will miss the moments i’ve shared with you. will you go back to calling me baby and darling, very early in the morning, when you startle me awake and tell me to give you some covers while i rudely kick about, telling you to pleeeeeease, shove over. you, you are my lover. and yet a country bounds between us. and our dreams and our battles storm in the back of our heads chaotically, misfortunes, or have we caused this fort that we once built to steadily un-hem?

i wish we had looked and looked twice before we stepped into unknowing, you and i in the back of our throats a clump, forms and i can’t swallow anymore. because. i miss you and yet i know, we’re in different worlds. and honestly, i don’t know when we’ll meet again. but can i live with the prospect

i found love in a deafening manner. released so carefully and absorbed so carelessly. as if you had planned out a plethora of meaning to send my way. and i took its breeze, playfully. is there something about the unfolding of eyelids that draws your lips to the tip of my head? i never figured you as one of immense heartache but i figured you had small terrors to mention bruises you wanted relieved of their pensive questions. tiny tensions. kissing, to make up for the lack of fenced in conversation, we are latched in, hooking. freeing, laughing, then staring, silent, thinking, your eyes are pretty and your mouth makes shapes that i can’t explain. and the strands of your soul reached out, longing. and to my ears, they make it, stealing sound and that is how i felt, maddened. you take me, unexpectedly.

Show Yourself

Pascale Gatzen Eric Han Nancy Brown Derrick Cruz In today’s digital age, it is sometimes the most beautiful to view the world through something as simple as a disposable camera. Is it because it evokes nostalgic memories of our childhood, the photographic quality brings back lost memories or because old school is cool? I have gotten into the habit of carrying disposable camera with me, most of the time. After it is developed the pictures and memories are always a pleasant surprise. That is the beauty of avoiding the instant gratification of the digital camera. Through readings at school I discovered a photography project, where disposable cameras were distributed to people in little villages of third world countries. On the camera there were questions and content, which should be photographed with the different frames available. This inspired me. It seemed the perfect way for me to learn more about people surrounding me in my every day live or people that intrigue me. So I changed the content and questions on the disposable camera to match my interests and curiosity about these individuals.

Disposable camera of Eric Han “Fuck you MoMA for Tim Burton. Fuck you MoMA for Maria Abramovic. Fuck you MoMA and your slow ass fucking coat checks. Fuck you MoMA and your Free Target Fridays. Fuck you MoMA and your tourists. Fuck you MoMA for scheduling Tim Burton and Maria Abramovic to overlap so the coat check line takes 5 times longer than usual and this is not even on Free Target Friday because it is flooded with tourists who carry their life around New York City. “

“White people are foreign to me, which is odd cause I grew up in America as an American in the American Midwest. But I was raised by my Korean parents who were born in Korea and raised me with Korean ideals and culture. It wasn’t until college where I began to understand “White” people and it wasn’t until a recent road trip I took with the three pictured above that I really got a taste of “White” culture. If you were to tell me I was going to take a road trip with three white people and only hang out with white people my spring break I would have thrown a bag of rice at your face and probably still would have if you told me a week leading up to spring break. Yet, it turned out to be more of a breath of fresh air. White people are open, willing, patient, and understanding- four adjectives rarely used for Asians. This is why I feel okay to call these people who I once identified as white as my close friends.”
