What God Hath Promised
God hath not promised skies always blue, Flower strewn pathways all our lives through, God hath not promised sun without rain, Joy without sorrow, peace without pain. But God hath promised strength for the day, Rest for the labor, light for the way, Grace for the trials, help from above, Unfailing sympathy, undying love. Annie Johnson

The Obituary Davis Sr. was born to Shields Sr. and Ethel Davis on December 12, 1956 in Chester, Pennsylvania and departed this life on August 31, 2015. He received his education in the Chester Upland School district. He graduated from Chester High School in 1975. Shortly after graduating, Carlton entered the US army and served his country faithfully in Korea, Germany, and Enewetak Hawaii. During his stay in Korea, he met and married his wife, Insun Lee. After his honorable discharge from the US Army, Carlton began his family life.
Carlton
He
maintained employment with Taylor Hospital for
23 years. Carlton was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a jokester and was always ready to give a good laugh. Whenever he felt someone was being untruthful, he would say “Monkey Balls. He loved his children and grandson dearly. He held a special place in his heart for the mother of his children/friend Insun Lee.
Carlton was proceeded in death by his beloved father
Shields Davis Sr. and loving brother Stanley Davis. He leaves to cherish his memory: His mother Ethel Davis, two children Carlton Davis Jr. and Carleen Davis, grandson Sean Davis, brother Shields Davis Jr., sisters: Elaine Hunter (Chas), Dinah Mobley (Anthony), Evelyn Barnes (Benjamin). He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family and friend. All that was fortunate to have known him will miss him dearly. We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. The end of life is not the end.
The
fallen
Limb
A limb has fallen from the family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says, "Grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you. Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remembering all, how I truly was blessed. Continue traditions, no matter how small. Go on with your life, don't worry about falls I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin. Until the day comes when we are together again.

In Appreciation
The family would like to take this opportunity to express our sincerest appreciation for the thoughtfulness presented to us and love we have been given during our time of bereavement.
May God Bless You!
Earth is not our final home; we were created for something much better.
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-15:14 (NIV)
