... AND IN OUR BELOVED COLLEAGUES It takes real passionated people to run the Simply Chocolate factory. It also takes lots of skills and our experienced employees know exactly how to care for the chocolate in the best possible way. We consider ourselfes a bit nerdy, simply because we are uncompromising in every little detail, flavor and ingredients. Good is not good enough - it has to be perfect and sophisticated every time and in each and every chocolate. We can’t help it - it just comes natural for us to have this exalted love relationships with chocolate.
Take Grainy Sue as an example, if you add too much spelt it will get dry, if you add too many peanuts it will get too salty so it needs constant care and a firm hand that knows excactly what it’s doing. Our pots and caseroles are a bit bigger than your regular ones at home, but it is basically the same setup we use to start the journey of a chocolate bar. We do not want a lab with powders and liquids that no one can pronounce the names of. We want real ingredients and we want real passionated people to make it. That’s what a true Simply Chocolate employee is made of.

YES, WE ARE GREEN THINKERS AND DO’ERS! IT’S VERY IMPORTANT FOR US TO CARE ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT BY HANDLING OUR WASTE CORRECTLY, CONSTANTLY IMPROVING OUR PACKAGING FOR REUSABILITY, USE OF INTELLIGENT LED LIGHTS AND MUCH MORE. AND NOW WE ARE INSTALLING SOLAR CELLS ON THE ROOF, WHICH MEANS WE ARE ABLE TO PRODUCE OUR CHOCOLATE ON SOLAR POWER.

THE ENVIRONMENT When you make chocolate - or any other product for that matter - you have a big responsibility to care about the environment in more that one way. REDUCING CO2 3 years ago we moved to a new and more modern location in Copenhagen where we had the opportunity to optimize on our daily handling in the production and offices to support the environment. As an example we only have motion controlled LED lights that regulates by the outdoor light and turns off when no one is around. We also make sure that our chocolate and packaging never gets transported by flight. SOLAR POWER In february 2020 we are installing solar cells on the roof of the chocolate factory, which means we are able to produce our chocolate on solar power. It’s a huge investment for us, but in order to make the world more green and a better place for next generation, we believe it to be very important! PACKAGING All our paper packaging is made from reusable materials. On many of our gift items we use glass and porcelain instead of plastic with thought
on reusing the packaging over and over. We are continuously working on how to incorporate more and completely compostable packaging. The foil we use for our chocolate bars are not yet as environmental friendly as we would like it to be, simply because a 100% reusable or degradable foil doesn’t exist. However, the foil we use are made of 50% sugar cane material, which means that 50% of the foil is reusable. With our packaging supplier we are constantly developing in order to find a 100% reusable and degradable foil. and develop the foil that can be reused or degradable 100%. And that foil will come, that’s for sure. We just hope it will come soon! COCOA CROPS As you can read in the Cocoa Horizon section we take part in educating the cocoa farmers on how to treat the plants and fields with respect for the next generations. PEOPLE Whether you are a part of the Simply Chocolate production in Denmark or in the Ivory Coast you only deserve to work in an environment that takes care of your needs. As a part of Cocoa Horizon we are working to eradicate child labor and slavery.

THE BEST FROM NATURE, WE JUST TAKE THE CREDIT Well, we’re named Simply Chocolate, so it’s not that complicated. We create chocolate that tastes good. We want to make a product that not only your mouth but also your body would love and therefore we are very picky when it comes to our ingredients. We don’t use laquer or artificial colourings in our chocolate. On the other hand, we don’t want to make boring, plain chocolate.
AWARDS It’s no secret that we love our chocolate and when it turns out, that others love it as well, we get so very proud. And that is what happened with Crispy Carrie in 2019. She won a star at the Great Taste Award. In 2018 Grainy Billy also won a star and back in 2014 both Persian Perry and Grainy Sue won silver and Bronze in The Internationale Chocolate Awards.
With that in mind and in order to become the most modern, cool and tasty chocolate brand in Europe we are continuously working to develop and discover any opportunity for great taste within the headline of only natural ingredients.

WE ARE MORE THAN PROUD Simply Chocolate has recently entered a partnership with the World Pride organization. In 2021, the World Pride and Eurogames will be held in Copenhagen. It will be a huge event with an estimated number of visitors of 250.000 people from all over the world.
