How to calculate the average Dp? 1) Find the average pressure drop a) Find the EN779:2012 report b) Find the pressure drop as a function of dust feed curve c) Estimate the average pressure drop at the defined amount of dust G4

Note: The data is from standard use in an air handling unit with 6000 hours per year. E.g. an Opakfil has a dust loading capacity of around 100g and should not be used up to 400g as indicated in the test reports.

d) For fine filters a straight line can be used as an approximation of the pressure drop up to 100 g. The average pressure drop is therefore: Dp = A+(B-A)/2 2) Calculate the energy consuption Using the average pressure drop the energy consumption can be calculated using the following formula:

3) Calculate the Energy Efficiency Classification Using the filter class and the energy consumption the Energy Efficiency Classification can now be found
