Simmer Interview

SIMplee Tierra Please share your origin ID and your favorite thing (or things) to create in the Sims Well, I made my Origin ID way before I even started building and sharing my creations with everyone so it’s Tewa86–Tewa being my nickname as a child, and 86 being the year I was born. But I will eventually change it to my @simpleetierra handle just to make it easier for people to find my creations. I mostly enjoy building smaller homes, especially tiny homes, and challenging myself doing micro homes. When it comes to CAS, however, I specialise in recreating famous characters/people without using any CC. I don’t use CC because I like to make my creations as accessible to everyone as possible.

What are a few things you'd like to share with our readers about yourself? Aside from the sims, I am an artist and graphic designer. I’ve been into art since I can remember and I got my BFA in graphic design almost 4 years ago. I’m also very into spirituality and have been practising doing tarot readings whenever I can. I’m hoping to become somewhat of a ‘professional’ in these areas one day.

When did you first start playing Sims and with so many packs available, what is one of your favorites?

Oh dear…I’ve been playing the Sims since the very start. When the first edition of the Sims came out, I was 14 years old and my dad brought it home to show me how to play. I was HOOKED! I played it the entire summer before I started high school. I played every version that came out, although I probably used the Sims2 more than the Sims3, before Sim4 came out. The Sims4 is definitely my favourite, though. Mostly because I do so much more with it than I ever did with the other versions.

SIMplee Tierra Are there any particular features of gameplay you would like to see featured in the sims? I have been saying for years that I would die to have an 80s themed pack! Although, it would be even more intriguing to me if they came out with some kind of DECADES pack where it featured a bunch of items from the 1920s-1990s. That might be asking for too much, I guess. But no matter what packs/kits they make, more than anything I wish they would create a haircolor slider for CAS the way they did the skin colours. It drives me crazy not having more hair colours to choose from.

What is one of your creations that you are most proud of and why?

I think the Barbie Dream Mansion I made for the Malibu Barbie Collaboration I hosted (that was released in March), is one of the creations I’m most proud of because it was the first mansion I ever built, and I made it to have the look of 1980s-90s Malibu Barbie style. I’m so happy with how it turned out, and I’m grateful for all the love the community showed me for that creation–and for the collab as a whole.

Is there one particular style you favor over another..what is it and why? Lately I’m finding that I enjoy more oldfashioned looking styles over anything modern. Modern can be really nice, too, of course…but I prefer more cosy and cluttered builds. I think it’s fun seeing things look ‘old’ and realistic in game. For instance, Victorian homes or old English cottages and such.

Where do you draw inspiration from?

I LIKE TO GO THROUGH PINTEREST TO LOOK AT A VARIETY OF STYLES OF ARCHITECTURE, AND I ESPECIALLY ENJOY SEEING DRAWINGS/PAINTINGS OF HOMES, OR FANTASY HOME CONCEPTS TO HELP ME GET INSPIRATION. I USUALLY COMBINE A MIXTURE OF FEATURES IN ORDER TO CREATE THE HOUSES I BUILD, RATHER THAN COPYING ANYTHING EXACTLY. HOWEVER, SOMETIMES I TRY TO RECREATE HOMES FROM MOVIES/TV.

SIMPLEE TIERRA

Do you showcase any of your amazing creations anywhere other than the gallery and if so where can we check them out?

I show HOW I make my creations on Youtube (@SIMplee Tierra) but I share some pictures of my creations on Reddit (u/SIMpleeTierra), Twitter (@Tierra_Cruz_), but mostly everything is shared on Instagram (@simpleetierra). I do have a Patreon account (SIMplee Tierra), too, that features special creations NOT shared on the gallery, using tray files and downloadable links. So for exclusive content, I hope anyone interested will check out my Patreon page!

I am beyond grateful to even be considered for this interview and I truly hope people enjoy the creations I make for them! Thank you all! - SIMplee Tierra
