Hello everyone, I'm mamajanaynay, or MJ or mamaj for short. I have been a member of Simtech since 2012. My position here as Head Admin is to assist our founders, InaMac69 and Jack's Creations (Jacko), monitor the site. Allow new members, follow up on forum threads, check and list downloads from members and make them open to the public and generally help any member who needs help as much as I can, if I can't I will certainly help find the answers or direct the question to the right person/entity. Basically make sure the forum is running smoothly.
We asked Mama J a few questions and here is what she said. Q1 - How did you get started with playing The Sims? Let's see I started playing The Sims back in 2007, while I was recovering from a traumatic life event. My second oldest daughter handed me a PS 2 controller, put the disk in for The Sims: Busting Out and said to me: "mom, this will help you take your mind off of everything you just went through and are going through." She was right! Within a two week span I had mastered every career. Lol. After that, my husband bought me a few other PS 2 Sims games, can't even remember them now, but two I do remember having and playing were Pets and Castaway. After those, I was introduced to The Sims 2 on PC. At this point I was into the game, but I didn't get completely hooked until The Sims 3 came out. Then it was game on! LOL. I've been playing ever since.
Q2 - What is your main game you play from the franchise? The main game I play now is Sims 4. At first it was a toss up because I dearly love and loved Sims 3 but it gets so frustrating with all the lagging and jittering it does and I have a PC that is designed for gaming. At times I really wish that game wasn't so buggy. Now that there is more CC out there and you can customize your sims to look more "real" than "cartoony" and with more additions to the game itself, I have found that I prefer to play Sims 4. Q3 - In your game, what do you like to do the most? Wow. That is a toss up! I like to build as building in Sims 4 is so much easier than in 3, at least I think so. I've always had issues with roofing in Sims 3, but in 4 it is so much easier. Although I wish there were more options to different styles than there are now even though you can manipulate them and couldn't in Sims 3. I also like to create sims and that will usually depend on my play style. As I'm creating him or her, a story might pop up that I want to incorporate that sim or sims in. I have joined some comps but I'm not too much into competitions. There are a couple challenges that I have done and have found that those can be quite interesting. LOL If I had to say what do I like to do the most, it would be story telling with creating, challenges and build coming in at a strong number 2. Q4 - If you could design an EP or SP what would it be? Gosh. That is a hard one. They are already working on a player designed Eco pack (which will be coming out in 2018!) and in it the main game play feature will be laundry (Yay!!! I have always felt that part of daily lives as a sim was missing.) If I could designed an EP it would be weather/season related. But not like what we had in Sims 2 or Sims 3 but a bit more weatherly. It would include not only meteorites, but also: tornadoes, hurricanes in all strengths (maybe even add a more devastating one!), floods, really and I mean really severe thunderstorms, huge snowstorms where your sims would be buried in their homes and also include more outdoor activities like: cross country skiing, golf, tennis, snowmobiling, things of that nature. Q5 - What advice would you give to any new simmers? I would have to say just play the game the way you want, whatever series you like as not all series are for everyone and just have fun!

Hello Fellow Simtech Family We want to let everyone know that we are undergoing a complete renovation of the forum. The renovation will be done in phases starting with a good old-fashioned cleaning. After all, isn't that really how all rehab work should begin?
What does this mean? Well, I'm glad you asked! The Admin Team will be cleaning up the site over the next several days/weeks and we are asking for all members to help us keep everything up-to-date. Please take a little time to just check any of your shared creations/cc/image links you've posted within the forum's threads. The easiest way to do this is simply click the "View Your Posts" link on the right of the page under the "LOGOUT" button.
PHASE I: Cleaning Many of our member's posts contain inks that have invalid/broken links for the cc item and/or the images are no longer showing due to Photobucket's new hosting requirements. As mentioned, we will be going through each thread and cleaning up the threads, however this will take awhile for everything to be corrected. You may notice your creation(s) have been moved from their original location. Some members with many cc creations will be moved to a separate area to allow them to be able to update their shared creations over time. We want to continue sharing our member's amazing creations, but need to have updated information showing in threads.
PHASE 2: Inactive Members Removal After threads are cleaned up nicely we really want to be sure those who want to continue to be a forum member remain as active members.
What does this mean? We will be sending a friendly email to all our members asking them to kindly respond or log in to the forum to let us know they wish to keep their registration active here. Any member(s) who have been inactive for 1 year or longer, OR have never posted in the forum will be deleted. Please remember you may always join the forum again at a later time absolutely free.
PHASE 3: Makeover What does this mean? This family-friendly forum will be getting a face-lift! Please be advised that during the cleaning phase you may notice your post count go down as threads are removed from the forum. Not to worry though' you can always just start posting in any open threads to regain higher post counts. We thank you all so much in advance for your cooperation, patience, and understanding during this transition.

You are receiving this message because we need your help. there are posts within the forum we have found that either have broken links or need updated images that you have posted. We have moved any posts that need an updated image or have broken/invalid links into individual threads for the member whose original post they belong to. We want to be sure to give everyone the opportunity to update their posts and any creations, before removing them from the forum. If you can please check out the list within the archive section for your name. If we do not hear back from you within 2 weeks we will be moving the threads to our Scrapyard or deleting them as we clean the forum. If you have any questions or need help, please feel fee to contact any of the Admin Team NOTE: Your thread(s) are currently in the Archives area and will be moved to the appropriate sections within the forum once the posts are corrected. New Forum Buddy motion set up for New Members Sent to Admin Buddy system in place - anyone activating a new member from now on will be their BUDDY. Please send a pm to the new member introducing yourself. This is the letter I have in place for automatic sending to new members as soon as they are activated.
