Hello, this is my portfolio.
holly overland Junior Artworker/Graphic Designer
The dream, the aim, the goal: A position which allows me to nurture my skills, translating concepts into a visual reality. Fascinated through different cultures, I am eger to explore and travel. As an individual with a keen eye for detail, my interests lie amongst art history, branding, concept design and fashion. As a recent graduate I believe my degree has bridged together both my visual and creativity skills, alongside my business mind-set, which together allow me to show a broad range of thinking. I am fascinated through design and everything visual, and inspired by real life experiences. I have a strong drive to experience new things and learn about different cultures to continuously advance my creative thinking and exercise my design potential by throwing myself into creative situations.
Following three years studying at Nottingham Trent University. I am passionate about individuality and how different people interpret things in their own, unique way. From the likes of Tracey Emin to Tim Walker these are two global enthusiasts who withhold the power to challenge perspectives, and are some of many whom I consider aspiring. My studies have ignited my interest within branding, identity and graphic design, particularly how brands operate and how their exciting methods are developed in order to visually stimulate the emotional intelligence of consumers. I am egar to put my skills learnt throughout university into practice. I have recently begun to strengthen my existing skills through freelance work. Translating concepts into a visual reality ignites my interests, alongside my passion for design.

Creating a concept for the degree show, a brand image and all printed material and communications
CHALLENGE
As a team, we were asked to come up with a concept for the Fashion Marketing and Branding (FMB) 2016 degree show. The exhibited showcases all students work throughout the three years of study, however we wanted to translate our creative, yet strategic skills as a course. I chose to create the brand logo, which is a three dimensional representation of FMB to express ourselves as dynamic individuals through a geometric design. Alongside the printed material in the exhibition room and also the brand handbook. -Concept Design -Branding -Printed Material -Art Direction -Fundraising

trend forecasting and photography 2015 ABOUT
To track a trend and produce a magazine spread
CHALLENGE
Following a brief in trend forecasting we were asked to identify three trends within fashion. This allowed me to look at social, political, economical and technologic trends that we could apply to our identified trends. I picked up specifically on the trend amongst generation Y, the sports luxe movement and the latest technologically drivel materials. The project was then executed by creating a magazine spread to represent the key trend of spring/Summer 2015. The choice of location, model and suitable garments were all sourced by myself. The photographs were also taken by myself. -Trend Forecasting -Styling -Photography -Editorial
