THE FLEX
FURNITURE DESIGN
OBJECTIVE:
Design a sitting unit which can also be used as a storage unit in smallspaces. Most important function in your design, except from sitting; should be space saving.

POLY-SURFACE
BOX
Concept and design development. The surfaces of architecture are the planes, which developed from a single frame; from which meaning gets extracted. Surfaces give shape to space by becoming poly-surface, and structure the sequences of movement and experience.

360
A multidisciplinary storage solution that can be used right from a bachelors pod all the way to a public space like libraries, cafes. It consists of closed storage, open storage, detachable storage and see through storage. Detachable storage can also be used as a seating unit making it a multifunctional unit in itself. The other transformable unit opens out on the opposite faces, which can be further used as a table. One of the two wingsW of the unit can be closed with the help of inbuilt hydraulic hinge.
Detachable model furniture set
The set could be bent to one side and can recreate a new functional scheme.
Each model can function solo and within a general system. Combination of versatility, function, and style, so every square foot can effortlessly perform like it is designed to be. Versatile design, which is multi-functional, is the opposite of unitary design. Neutralization means an object is designed for some different functions not a particular one without disrupting the linkage between functions.
THE FLEX HOUSE
OBJECTIVE: Design a small office including tables for working and reception, seating for working and reception and storage. Your office can be for one as well as for two people. The room needs to be a office space and a living space
LIVING ROOM
ART GALLERY
The FLEX house is a bifunctional home solution that can be used as a regular house and as a workspace. Since the client is an artist the living space can also be converted to a gallery space.

CONCEPT AND MASSING
work
reading living
The multifunctional space is designed for an artist. This apartment is designed in a way that it is a constantly evolving space. The main room can serve, by turns, as an office, a living room, a gallery, or a dining room with a table that seats eight. What exists now seems completely livable with very few compromises and a gallery with a few push and pulls here and there. The space doesn’t only rely on proprietary architectural designs. It is also an amalgamation of furniture and wares from dozens of companies like Resource Furniture. From the drawing table which extends as a dining table to the closet which pulls out to create a gallery wall, every object has been chosen for its economy of space, design, and sustainability.

CHIAROSCURO
INTERIOR DESIGN
OBJECTIVE:
Design a restaurant in Hong Kong. Currently the restaurant is “La Viola” a western restaurant ituated in “Western District” that needs to be transformed into an Italian restaurant.
MOOD BOARD
Chiaroscuro is an Italian art term that translates to light and dark. The name was chosen to represent our Italian cuisine as well as highlight our brand identity. The restaurant is a perfect mixture of casual and fine dining. We are open for lunch and dinner. Lunch features bistro bites and cocktails at the bar. Dinner is a formal sit down featuring our best seasonal dishes paired with a glass of wine. Dinner is an uniquely curated experience.
GENERAL ARRANGEMENT PLAN
DIMENSION PLAN
The restaurant is designed in 2 main zones, the bar and the dining. Its is a concept restaurant/store that features a selection of artworks in the interior available for purchase or simply admiration while enjoying a well cooked meal. Every four months, a new artist will have the chance to create an installation for our restaurant guests. This makes for a unique and special experience for guests to come back to Chiaroscuro every season to enjoy new works of art.
In terms of design the dining area where the main exhibits are placed is more neutral as to blend easily and not compete with the constantly changing art work or exhibits. The main materials are white carrara marble table top, brass furniture legs, travertine flooring, brass strip inlay in flooring, beige leather upholstery and white dove paint. The space is more like an empty canvas on which the artwork is placed. The bar area is more static and bold with constant design of blue venetian plaster for the wall with black marble bar counter with gold dusted metal counter top and back lit acrylic for the bar shelves.
Since both the zones where extremely contrasting in design and colour schemes the challenge was to connect them both through something constantly flowing in both the areas to bring the harmony of the space. The challenge is solved by the use of brass inlay in flooring which ran end to end in the entire restaurant connecting both the zones and also the same used for the frame for the custom partition panel and facade panel. The customised partition and facade with triangular transparent and translucent glass panels is the design extension of the brand identity of the restaurant from its black and white logo.
Art work used for render are of artists Nancy Chu Woo of Hong Kong (right) who uses her own unique style of splashed ink landscape painting, in which she mixes ink with gouache colours to create brilliant, semi-abstract compositions, as well as incorporates themes such as the human figure. and HOTTEA of Minnesota (above) who harnesses a non-destructive take on street art using skeins of yarn.
AQUAZZURA
INTERIOR DESIGN
OBJECTIVE:
Design window displays and interior spaces of a luxury brand specializing in shoes like christian louboutin etc.
MOOD BOARD
Each Aquazzura store values their specific location. Each store incorporates the culture of the city and includes various colors and design elements that allow the brand to become worldwide. Although the brand itself is consistent, each individual store has a unique appearance relevant to culture. This allows for cultural and emotional assets. Since the store is located in florence and its 500th anniversary of Da vinci in italy it serves as the perfect theme for window display. Da Vinci seemed truly excited by the possibility of people soaring through the skies like birds and thats where the concept is derived from.
GENERAL ARRANGEMENT PLAN
DIMENSION PLAN
What is retail now and how do you give that experience to someone? The solution, would be to offer localised stores, personalised to complement each location. “You wouldn’t decorate a house in New York the way you would in Miami or London. There’s a certain DNA but you wouldn’t have the same furniture. You might not even use the same colour palette necessarily. Customers want energy and constant creativity.” The design of each of Aquazzura’s new and existing stores will take inspiration from the city in which it is located. “In Dubai, there might be some Middle Eastern-inspired architecture. In London, it’s inspired by an English townhouse.” Along with the design differentiation, 30 to 40 percent of the product selection will vary for each store. The offering will include different colours and styles as well as designs created exclusively for those locations.
The black and white stripes design captures the attention of bypassers. The vertical layout of the stripes also encourages you to enter. The layout of the displayed shoes sparks interest: The shoes look like a special display similar to museums or expensive jewellery. The backgroundless window is inviting. It communicates; You’re welcome to look and to enter.
For a very long time fashionable shoes are synonymous with pain and discomfort but aquazzura is all about comfort with luxury and style. The story and flow in the window display was created using golden bird cages as props and Da vinci’s bird. The shoes are placed in the cage on velvet cusions which speaks that the shoes are precious and the cages represents the idea of luxury shoes being discomfort, as the flow continues the doors of the cage are opened and the leonardo’s bird flies in all its glory representing the idea of freedom, from the caged discomfort shoes of the industryto comfortable and stylish shoes from aquazzura.
Window display options with same concept and story line that can be executed in 3 different ways.
Rendered section of the store showing the interiors of the store with customised shelves for the product display and custom De Gournay Wallpaper.
TERMINAL
ARCHITECTURE
OBJECTIVE:

LITERATURE STUDY
SECTION DETAIL
FLOOR PLANS
The plan of the termainal is elongated along the wings of the central core which helps uniform distribution of spaces along the platform rather than congestion of all functions in one limited area. Ground floor consistes of all main functions of a terminal like reservations baggage, parcel counter etc and the first floor is completely used for dormitory and lodge facilities. Majority of commercial spaces are facing the bus bays, while few are located inside near waiting areas as well the bays are located in such a way that it is easy for arrival as well as departutre of buses without any congestion. Structural grid consists of column spacing of 8*5m and 8*8m
HOUSE 364
INTERNSHIP
OBJECTIVE:
The project was conceived as a residence on a 30 x 40 site, the only requirement being that it needed to make its presence felt visually and functionally to attract a buyer.
FLOOR PLANS
The residence is planned with split levels with a central stair forming a connector. The levels not only work to maintain privacy for the required spaces but also allow visual connections internally from different spaces to the common areas.
When designing a residence in Bangalore in the urban context, especially for a small site, certain prevalent conditions of surrounding density, security, privacy and pollution need to be addressed. An important condition being the proximity of the neighboring sites and the capability of the neighbor to build up to the edge of this site allowing for very little or no privacy possible for the residents. These dense building patterns seen over a period of time do not really allow an extrovert experience, hence forcing one to necessarily look inwards rather that outwards in terms of design. As the connect to the exterior was limited on the 2 sides abutting the adjacent properties, the project was conceptualized with blank walls on these edges sky lit from above with green courts below. This dissolved the actual boundaries of the usable spaces maximizing the feel and experience internally. Openings are created to allow dramatic contrasts of light and shadow internally enhancing depth.
SECTIONS
The ground floor works with a bay accommodating a bedroom and garage which calls for a lesser height and another bay with common spaces like kitchen, dining and puja. This configuration allows an exploration of different height options for each bay justifying the concept of split levels. The living room is lifted up to the mid landing level above the garage and bedroom bay while the master bedroom finds itself above the dining bay. Sectional connections from the living to the puja/dining and from the master bedroom to the living through openings allows all levels of the residence to stay connected and feel more open. The children’s bedroom also stays visually connected to the living. The raised compound wall allows the site setback to be experienced internally as a green court around the puja and dining adds to the internal experience.

COLLABORATION
EXECUTED WORK
WORK SUMMARY:
The following project was a collaboration work with a fellow designer. 2.5 BHK display-flat interiors for a builder.
This 2.5 BHK show apartment is in an affordable housing society, but designed to give a modern luxurious feel. The choice of materials such as leather and cotton velvet upholstery add to the luxurious feel. The sheer curtains in Mediterranean style reinforce the overall breezy yet rich look.
w The flooring and ceilings have been kept plain to let the buyers imagine their home and keep the focus on overall space design.
When wood is used in excess, it gives a warmth to the room. Quality wood also gives it it that rich feel. The same colours scheme repeats in all the rooms giving it a cohesive feel.
THANK YOU
