AGES: 50+

Track and field, golf, bowling, pickleball, and many more activities designed just for seniors are open for participation. Join your friends for fun, competition, and fellowship during the most active days of the summer. Local competition leads to state and national games. Registration required.

STAY ACTIVE AND INDEPENDENT FOR LIFE (SAIL)

MIDCO® AQUATIC CENTER

AGES: 65+

SAIL is a 12-week strength, balance and fitness program designed for adults 65+. Participants improve balance and mobility, reduce their risk of falls, and improve their quality of life while having fun meeting new people. Experienced and skillful instructors teach each class. Classes are tailored to older adults who are active and wish to maintain or increase their fitness level. Chairs will be available as needed. It is recommended to attend 2 classes per week. Please bring a bottle of water along to class. Registration required.

SENIOR ARCHERY

GREAT BEAR ARCHERY RANGE

AGES: 55+

Learn the basics of archery while using compound bows. From proper technique and stance, to shooting challenges, you are sure to enjoy an afternoon of outdoor fun! Our trained Recreation Program Specialist & the Minnehaha Archers Club will teach you about this fun sport. Registration required.

SENIOR RECREATION TRAIL TOUR

DUNHAM PARK

AGES: 55+

This experience is for those who are not able to explore our beautiful Greenway Trail System on their own. Round trip golf cart tours will allow you to experience stunning views of the river, parks, and wildlife. Participants must be able to transfer onto and off the golf carts independently. Snacks and water provided! Registration required.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION FUN RUN/WALK

FAWICK PARK ALL AGES

Bring the entire family and start your day celebrating America, by joining us for the IDC fun run/walk. Runners will begin at Fawick Park and follow the path along the Big Sioux River. Turn around points will be noted along the route. Runners who are registered before 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 13 will receive a T-shirt. Registered participants can check in starting at 7:30 a.m. Cost is $5 per person. Register online at register.siouxfallsparks.org using keyword: run. Didn’t register in time? You can still come out and enjoy the event (free) but T-shirts will only be provided to those registered by the deadline.
