PRISON, BORDER, AND PERCEPTION FINAL PROJECT Bachelor Degree Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember Surabaya January 2017 Advisor: Endy Yudho Prasetyo, ST. MT. Status: 3rd Winner of National Final Project Competition 2017
Every country in the world always have criminal activity inside of it. Indonesia as one of developing country surely familiar with criminal activity. There are so much criminal activity such as thieving, frauding, killing, and raping. There are laws for reduce criminal activity in every country. Normally every people who did criminal activity will be punished with imprisonment. Imprisonment was the punishment that snatch the freedom of inmates for the sake of security in community and also to rejuvenate inmates. However, the prison never involve community in the rehabilitation process, so that make the ex-inmates getting rejected in the community. Even tough the inmates already rehabilitated inside the prison, they haven’t get the same treatment as like as normal person in community after they got out from the prison. The comunity shouldn’t reject them to get along in community. All people should treat the ex-inmates as a normal person. The thing is much complicated because the inmates didn’t prepare well to get along incommunity after imprisonment. The difficulty to communicate with comunity and rejected by community make me ask a basic question. IS IT THE BEST SYSTEM OF IMPRISONMENT FOR THIS ERA?

Coworking is a style of work that involves a shared workplace, often an office, and independent activity. Unlike in a typical office, those coworking are usually not employed by the same organization. Some people use this space as personal office for freelance works. Nowadays, co-working space spread around the world rapidly. In Surabaya, there are more than 10 co-working space available. Risma, Surabaya Major, said that Surabaya will be a start up city. As she has that vision, local government and private company build so many co-working space. However, Surabay has it’s own weakness. It is the availibility of land. As the city get denser over the year, there should be a solution to build coworking space in a small site of dense area.

PJB PARKING LOT - PARK AND PLAY PROFESSIONAL PROJECT ordes Arsitektur May 2017 Advisor: Endy Yudho Prasetyo, ST. MT. Role: Person in Charge Team: Kadek Ary Wicaksana, Haris Widi Pratama, Diky Apriago Status: Unbuilt
PJB is an Indonesia multinational company engaged in provide electrical energy in Java and Bali. As the company is expanding, the needs of space for the employee needs to be expanded. PJB Office area has been built in dense area in Surabaya. The needs of additional parking area is the most important priority though there are no empty space in PJB area. PJB propose to the consultant to build the parking lot on the existing sport arena. Instead just replace the arena with parking lot, they want to make the parking lot top story as the new arena that can be accessed from the parking lot and also from outside. The parking lot should also fulfill the total ammount of parking needed with that small footprint area.

ITS KPA BUILDING RENOVATION PROFESSIONAL PROJECT ordes Arsitektur January 2017 Advisor: Endy Yudho Prasetyo, ST. MT.; Defry Agatha Ardianta, ST. MT. Role: Person in Charge Team: Kadek Ary Wicaksana Status: Phase 1 Completed
KPA Building is a building full of histry in ITS Surabaya. It was a Rector’s Office once but has been replaced due to burned out. After that, the building was used by some campus necessity. In the center of building there is a multi purpose space there is Dr. Angka Statue, one of ITS Founder. This building has already change from before and doesn’t really give privacy to the office worker there. Some space is become useless becouse there is no connection between the space. This project consist of 3 phases of construction. The purpose of the design is to create the old memory of building, create connection between space, and create more space to trigger new activity.

Based on the results of UNICEF’s study, Indonesia does not yet have a single city that is predicated on Child Friendly Cities or Child-Friendly Cities. According to the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection in 2013, only 4 of 109 cities approached the status of child-friendly cities in Indonesia. While the child-friendly city itself is a city that guarantees children’s rights as citizens of the city, such as gathering and playing with friends and having a green space as a city park. Every child needs a place to express the expression and creativity they have, so that if the place is not available and lack of supervision from parents, then children tend to be able to pour it in a negative direction. This is proved by many cases of exploitation, violence and criminal acts committed by children. It also needs to get more attention, because children are the hopes and future generations of the nation. Therefore, we need a place to accommodate all children’s activities such as social interaction, play and learn optimally.

Color is a part of the electromagnetic spectrum. It is an energy having wavelength and frequency. Color affects the mood in adults and more so in children. Color psychology and its impact on a child’s learning abilities and behavior is a much researched subject. Color can help connect the neuropathways in the brain. When correct color is found for a person’s problem subject, then that subject actually becomes a lot easier for the child; the student actually experiences joy of learning. Children wearing colored goggles who were made to complete pegboard tests were found to solve the tests much faster when wearing goggles of their favorite color.

FOLDED BUS STOP IDEA Side Bachelor Assignment March 2013 Advisor: Ir. Endrotomo MT. Status: Idea
A sheet of paper is a think that nearly 2 dimensional. To make something with a paper, it need something as a structure to make it 3 dimensional. but there is flexibility from the paper itself, it can be bent or folded. It can make the paper has a structural support without using other material. From that characteristic of the paper, is it possible to make space just from just the paper that bent or folded? If it possible, what is the things can be made from that? And is there any material that has the same characteristic with paper that can be used as the real object in real life?

“APAKAH INI POSTER?”
With that concept about poster. what happened if the poster tweaked a bit without losing the purpose of poster. Will it still called a poster? This is a manifesto about how the experimental architecture explained with the basic thinking of poster. It is about how experimental thinking can implemented in the poster.

A poster is any piece of printed paper designed to be attached to a wall or vertical surface. Typically posters include both textual and graphic elements, although a poster may be either wholly graphical or wholly text. Posters are designed to be both eye-catching and informative. Posters may be used for many purposes. They are a frequent tool of advertisers (particularly of events, musicians and films), propagandists, protestors and other groups trying to communicate a message.
3D POSTER A 3D sculpture that written all explanations and definitions about poster. The poster use 3D elements to differentiate with convenrional poster.
“APAKAH INI POSTER?” An explanation about question “Is it a poster?”. A question that arises when everyone think that the poster is a paper attached to the wall containing information in the form of pictures and writing.
MANIFESTO ABOUT EXPERIMENTAL ARCHITECTURE Experimental Architecture is a process of thinking about the basic concepts of things that can then be explored more deeply about the component elements, so as not to lose the fundamental essence. The statement is a conclusion obtained after citing the statement that experimental architecture is about doubt the concepts and constraints with research in the form of materials, technology, forms, construction methods, even social structures. The core of experimental architecture is how someone can think about the basic concepts of something that can then be developed again. A visible example about it is on the poster that represent what experimental is. The first poster is eveluated about what is poster. “Apakah ini Poster?” is the initial process of thinking about the basic concept of the poster. After getting the basic concept, then if a little change is made without eliminating its essence, the poster can be developed into more things. The process of thinking above is a thought process of experimental architecture. If examined more deeply, experimental architecture will certainly contribute more in the field of architecture. Where by using the context of the form then clashed with the process of experimental architecture thinking, will certainly create new solutions that can be used to solve some issue. Then after telling the story about experimental architecture here, the question is “will this also be a poster?” when there is only writing on a piece of poster sized paper. “Will it still be called a poster?” when the poster turned into 3D.

EXPERI MENTAL ARCHITECTURE. Selamat berpikir! M.
