San Francisco Brokerage Manager Increases in the total number of sales and the median sales price yielded a strong real estate market for all of Marin County in the second quarter of 2017. According to the Bay Area Real Estate Information Services (BAREIS), 5 percent more single-family homes were sold in Marin County in Q2 2017 compared to Q2 2016. Total sales of single-family homes rose to 684 units in Q2 2017 versus 649 units sold in Q2 2016. The median sales price of $1.3 million reflects a 5 percent increase compared to $1.25 million in Q2 2016. The average days a single-family home remained on the market stayed flat. The markets in Tiburon and Belvedere saw more positive trends. While most other areas in Marin County saw modest increases in price, the consolidated median sales price of homes sold in both Tiburon and Belvedere climbed 15 percent year-over-year, from $2.35 million in Q2 2016 to $2.7 million in Q2 2017. More active than other parts of the county, the total number of single-family homes sold in Tiburon and Belvedere also grew. In Q2 2017, a total of 57 single family homes were sold in those areas, a 30 percent increase from the 44 units sold in Q2 2016. The following charts depict the market details for Marin County, Mill Valley, Ross, Kentfield, Sausalito, Tiburon, Belvedere and San Rafael.
