A MESSAGE FROM OUR MANAGER: Debra Reece We invite you to review a summary of sales activity in the Palm Beach area during the first quarter of 2017. The Palm Beach Multiple Listing Service reports the following statistics for this quarter, which are compared here with statistics for the same period of 2016: In-town condominiums represented the strongest sector of the Palm Beach real estate market during the first quarter of 2017. Total dollar volume in this market sector increased an impressive 199% year over year from $20.4M to $61.1M. Similarly, the total number of condominiums sold increased 85% from 20 to 37. The average sale price for an in-town condominium was 62% higher in year-over-year comparison, rising to $1,652,152. In the South End condominium market, the total dollar volume and total number of condominiums sold declined by 7% and 3% respectively, and the median sale price was 28% lower than in the same quarter of 2016. In Palm Beach’s single-family home market, the total number of homes sold was down 16% in a year-over-year comparison and the median sale price was 17% lower. Total dollar volume declined 26% from the first quarter of 2016, although remained higher than the same period of 2015.
