It’s my pleasure to present the Ventura County and Surrounding Areas Market Update for the second quarter of 2019. According to the FLEX MLS, the results for single-family home sales in Ventura County and surrounding areas reflected a decrease of 4% in average sales price, from $1M in Q2 2018 to $962K in Q2 2019. The total number of units sold decreased year over year, with 1,109 units sold in 2018 compared to 1,088 units sold in 2019, a decrease of 1.9%. Days on the market increased to 60 days, a 12.7% increase from the same time last year. Abounding with natural beauty and over 15,000 acres of open space, Thousand Oaks/ Newbury Park saw an increase of 9% in average sales price from $833K in Q2 2018 to $911K in Q2 2019. Ventura, a coastal gem approximately 27 miles from the beautiful town of Santa Barbara, saw an increase of 35% in total units sold from 177 in Q2 2018 to 239 in Q2 2019.
