Hi! My Name is

I live in St.Kitts and Nevis, which is in the Caribbean. I am a young child just like you and some of my favourite things to do are telling stories and playing games with my friends. What are the things you like to do? My biggest dream is to be a Storyteller just like my Granny. I spend a lot of time at the Public Market with her. Because of this I have met a lot of people and made many new friends.

Zaelly -Rose! My Granny’s name is Elizabeth Claxton but everyone calls her either ‘Mama Miss’ or just ‘Miss’. I think that my Granny is one of the best Storytellers in the world! There is nothing better than listening to her recall days gone by, every Sunday evening. She told me that I should write down my own stories to make sure I don’t forget them and can share them with other children. And that is exactly what I did! I have lots of stories, but my favourites are about my closest friends; you will get to know them; Zsa-Zsa, Jendi, Kaya,Tali, Marlee and Piko...

Known to the native Kalinago or Carib and Arawak *Indian Tribes as Liamuigua which means Fertile lands, St. Kitts is a guitar shaped island measuring approximately 68 square miles around. Our Lady of the Snows or Nevis for short is the name Columbus gave to the smaller circular island we also know as Oualie. A part of our history we always remember is the day the Federation gained its Independence from Great Britain in 1983. To commemorate and forever celebrate this achievement the people of St.Kitts and Nevis chose several symbols that represent the Spirit and Ideals of its’ Citizens.‌ The Flag of St.Kitts and Nevis, designed by

Edrice Lewis in 1983.
