Message for New Members Message for New Members Freshman year I legitimately believed that key club was about making keys. Turns out, we make keys to success because Key Club has paved the path to leadership for me, offering countless workshops and opportunities to build my character. Through this club I have been able to not only give back to the community I live in but also become more outgoing and optimistic. The friends I have met through Key are some of the most endearing and genuine people someone can come across. Because of this, I am grateful to have been a part of this program. -

My experience from key club is dummy lit and dank because LIKE volunteer eventsss!! Hellooo? I mean you are helping out the community and also wink wink you meet new people. If you are a girl, then you know what I'm talking about hehe. But anyhoo.. YEAH KEY club is so much much mucho fun and it's my fave club!! one of the best things about it is that in the beginning we are all shy (most from my opinion) but in the end we gain so much confidence and grow so much together !! So be a seal or be square :-) -

Tina Yap Arroyo Spirit Leader

My experience in key club was really good. I was able to make many friends from other schools, and being able to volunteer every weekend really brings the joy out of me. My first as a member of key club was very nervewrecking because I was a freshman who knew nothing, but that first time became a huge leap for me to come this far today. -

Club Rush Submitted by Vivian Tang, AHS Secretary

Arroyo recently had its Club Rush for this year and wow it was successful for our Key Club! On top of that, it was a super fun week! This year was definitely better for me than last year because I had the opportunity to work with the other officers and help out the little freshmen with their questions. On the first day of Club Rush, it was most definitely a rush, as the name itself says, but it was nothing we couldn't handle because the officers all worked together to make this year's Club Rush the best it could be. So many applicants arrived and there were people genuinely interested in what Key Club is and what it consists of. And of course our officers gladly informed the freshmen and other new members of what exactly Key Club is all about because our club is something we are proud of and something we love very much! The following days of the week of Club Rush were more relaxed but we still had returning members coming to pick up applications, and more new members that were interested. At the end of the week, we gave away a whole lot of applications and were definitely happy with the results. I cannot wait to have a great time this year with Key Club and the officers, but I also cannot wait to get members involved and for them to have an amazing experience with Key Club this year and their following years to come!

Region Beach Cleanup Pictures

Region Beach Cleanup Submitted by Susan Duong, AHS Spirit Leader

This past summer was the first time I went to Region 13 Beach Clean Up, and it was definitely something memorable and different. The event itself wasn't the thing that was totally different but it was the experience that I had there. When I first arrived, I did not know majority of the people except for a couple Arroyo people, like Gina and Guy, so I was terrified at first, but then Gina introduced me to some people and I got to make new friends who made the beach a great time for me. We played really fun games that the LTGs had for us, such as a sandcastle building competition and creating a chant to compete with other groups as well. I got to socialize with people from other divisions, which was really cool. After the games, we cleaned the beach up, went to eat, and chilled for the rest of the time. In between all that, spirit leaders were announced and I am now one of the Division Spirit Leaders for Arroyo! Overall Region 13 Beach Clean Up was at first a terrifying experience that turned into an amazing experience that I'm glad I went through because it got me out of my comfort zone and was definitely something I enjoyed.
