nless you have been to a Masters Convention in Pennsylvania, you may not understand the reason this event was so wonderful! Every 6 months, traditionally March and October, the leaders in and around Pennsylvania plan what I consider to be one of the most heartfelt, well organized, two days of intensive training that I have ever attended. When you have leaders coming in from all over the country, Laura, Dom and Domenic Baccini flew in from San Diego; Daniel (DW) and Helen Whited flew in from Denver; Joe and Barbie King Pennsylvania; Katie and Jake Beiler, came from Pennsylvania; Mary Ann and Benuel Stoltzfus, also traveled from Pennsylvania and Dr. Curt Ficenec flew in from North Dakota. Talk about a powerful lineup!

I
was asked to write an article this week that’s (wait for it) . . . all about me! To be clear, it’s actually all about me AND Sisel Live!. That’s a good thing for you (the reader) because if it were all about me, you might be a little bored by the middle of the second paragraph. My world revolves around the sports, homework, friends and 5 million other things I juggle, like most other mothers
do. The last two years have brought immeasurable joy to my life when my granddaughter Ivy joined our family. She loves to blow bubbles, dance to music and take rides on the Razor with our arms in the air . . . she makes me happy! When I’m not the mom and “manager” of my big clan at home, I’m lucky to be the manager of some great programs at Sisel. I have loved learning the ins and outs of this amazing business my father has built. I’m lucky to be able to learn from him as I grow and flourish in my career at Sisel. Laura Baccini, 5-Star Master: How to Build a Business
W
e recently contacted 5-Star Master Laura Baccini to pick up some tips on how to build a business. Here is a portion of our interview: SISEL: What should a sponsor do to help new distributors to be successful? LB: There are 5 things they should do while waiting for the starter kit to arrive:
1. Write down their why and what they want to get out of their Sisel business. Some people want to make an extra $200 month to pay for bills or get out of debt. Others need to make $2,000 a month to put food on the table and a roof over their head. As a sponsor, it’s important that we understand their why so we can help them. 2. Teach them how to answer questions. As they talk with others they will be asked a lot of questions. Have them practice giving short, simple answers and not explaining everything all at once. 3. Help them develop a short, personal presentation called an elevator speech. It will explain why they joined Sisel, tell a little bit about the Mower Mission and maybe one or two products. Remember, keep it short and simple, no more than 30 seconds.
4. Help them create a list of 60 to 100 names. I like to use memory joggers to help new people think of more names. The goal is to make the list as long as possible. Don’t judge if they will be interested in Sisel or not. Just make the list. 5. Help that person plan their first event. We set a date, a time and plan many of the details. During this step I also help them invite a few people, so they aren’t so nervous. The key is to invite and follow-up with at least three reminders or contacts. Those follow-ups can be a phone call, email,
postcard, whatever. Just keep it simple and fun. SISEL: If you could go back in time knowing what you know now, what would you tell yourself when you first got started with Sisel? LB: I would tell myself to work as hard as I could and build as fast as I could for 90 days and find at least 5 business partners, so we could work to build a strong business together. I would tell myself that if I just focused and worked for those 90 days that I would create momentum that would last for years. Every day is a challenge and an adventure. Sometimes you get discouraged because people will tell you no. Don’t take it personally. They aren’t rejecting you. Everyone isn’t in a place in
life where they are ready right now. Most of the time it is a timing issue. There will always be an opportunity at a future time. Try to keep in contact with the person and build your friendship so they know that you are there for them. SISEL: Any final nuggets of wisdom you would like to share with our readers, particularly new distributors? LB: 1. Stay connected with like-minded people who are taking action and not just talking. There is a big support network among Sisel distributors, plug into that network. If you can only listen to one call, plug into the Monday night Connect Call. On that call you hear from Aaron Rennert and find out the new things going on inside the company. You will also hear from top, active distributors who are making things happen in their own neighborhoods. 2. Be consistently consistent and not a flash in the pan. Every day do something that moves you forward and closer to your why, your dream. Don’t give up, this is a long-term business.
3. Build heart-to-heart relationships. Have conversations with others, understand their goals and what they want out of life and out of Sisel and then help them. Zig Ziglar said it best when he said, “You can get anything you want in life, if you help enough other people get what they want.” n
