DESCRIPTION: "The Old Military Circle is considered one of the monumental buildings in the Historic Center of Quito. The building was built on the site of a house originally intended for the Juan Montalvo School. The design and planning of the structure were specifically aimed at satisfying social needs, for which at the end of 1917 the construction contract was signed with the Architect Francisco Durini Cáceres and the Engineer Augusto Ridder, construction began in January 1918 and took eight years. The building of the Old Military Circle reflects the style neoclassic". It currently functions as a museum.
