It’s really as simple as that.” – Jonathan Hart, Founder SITKA Gear Since no two hunts are alike, every component of a SITKA Gear system has a unique function to accommodate a different approach to a singular end purpose. Our systems allow you add and subtract garments to complement the conditions you experience while hunting. By using a base layer that pulls moisture away from your skin to keep you dry, an insulation layer to regulate your core temperature, and an outer layer to provide breathable protection against the elements, you have the freedom to combine and create customized systems that keep you outside longer and optimally comfortable during any weather conditions you might face. The traditional approach to hunting has been to smell, sound or appear as something familiar to prey - through cover scents, calls and camouflage patterns of sticks and leaves. GORE™ OPTIFADE™ Concealment is the first concealment system designed around animal vision and not human eyesight. Unlike mimicry camouflage, OPTIFADE™ prevents your prey from recognizing you as a predator – even if detected – making you invisible in their eyes.

TECHNOLOGY BREAKDOWN We only choose the most advanced technologies for production of our products, and that’s why we employ GORE-TEX®, GORE™ OPTIFADE™, WINDSTOPPER®, PrimaLoft®, Polygiene®, POLARTEC®, and Drirelease. These high-tech materials enable hunters to stand up to all weather and connect with their environments in optimal comfort.
NEXT-TO-SKIN / ODOR CONTROL POLYGIENE® Odor Control Technology Layering is a science with our CORE system of next-to-skin products. Each of the fabric weights—light, mid, and heavy—wicks away moisture to keep you warm and dry, while Polygiene® technology safely and permanently neutralizes odors using naturally antimicrobial silver salt. Build the foundation of your system with a specialized base layer designed to suit your environmental conditions.
Drirelease Technology Drirelease fabrics offer a patented blend of 85-90% synthetic, hydrophobic (water repelling) fibers and 10-15% natural, hydrophilic (water absorbing) fibers. The built-in combination efficiently pulls moisture and perspiration away from the skin and pushes it to the exterior of the fabric where it can evaporate quickly. That’s why clothing made with DR always feels soft and stays dry.
INSULATION POLARTEC® ALPHA Insulation Adjusting or completely shedding layers to release excess heat and moisture vapor is not always a viable option during activities. Pit-zips and vents have traditionally helped to balance airflow and warmth in micro-climates, but they leave surface areas exposed to the elements in the process. Polartec® Alpha® is the first high performance fabric to materialize the concept of active insulation.
PRIMALOFT® Product Technology PrimaLoft® products are the ultimate in insulation technology for hunters. Ultrafine fibers are engineered to retain maximum warmth even when wet, and create a product that is quiet and less bulky, allowing for greater freedom of movement.
GORE ® WINDSTOPPER Product Technology WINDSTOPPER® products shelter hunters from the adverse effects of bone-chilling winds. The WINDSTOPPER™ membrane works with our base layers to prevent overheating and perspiration buildup by allowing moisture vapor to easily escape. WINDSTOPPER® fabrics offer soft, lightweight weather protection in one versatile and durable garment.

OUTERWEAR GORE-TEX® Product Technology Garments engineered with GORE-TEX® fabrics are perfectly suited for wet environments and harsh conditions. Guaranteed to be durably waterproof, windproof, and very breathable, they provide reliable protection and maximized comfort in all weather conditions. Excellent management of perspiration leads to optimized body-heat regulation. While each pore of a GORE-TEX™ membrane is smaller than a water droplet, each is 700 times larger than a water vapor molecule. This is what enables GORE-TEX® fabric to breathe so that sweat vapor can escape, keeping you dry from the inside — the ideal solution for hunters looking for both protection and performance.

Macro-Patterns & Micro-Patterns
PREY VISION
Ungulate eye placement is designed for an extremely wide field of view and a quick scan of the horizon for potential threats. The trade-off is diminished visual acuity. While we see 20/20, awn ungulate sees around 20/40, making their vision slightly blurrier than ours. While humans have a full range of color vision, ungulates lack the receptors for red tones, viewing the world in shades of yellow, blue, and grey. Bottom line, ungulates suffer from red-green colorblindness.
Disrupting of body symmetry and outline by using macro-patterns.
Matching the texture with a fractal geometry based micro-pattern.
The human body is made up of identifiable lines and obvious symmetry that is easily recognized by elk and other prey. The key to concealment is to interrupt those lines with macro-patterns of light and dark blobs while matching the texture of the environment using micro-patterns.

HOW TO TAKE YOUR MEASUREMENTS

5 - Inseam In a standing position, measure from your crotch to where you want your pants to end, breaking at the top of the shoe in the front and just above the heel in the back.
1 - Hats Measure .5” above the ears around the forehead. 2 - Sleeve Measure Bend your elbow and put your hand on your hip. Measure from the center of the back of your neck, along the shoulder and down the elbow to the wrist bone.

6 - Gloves With hand partially closed, measure over the knuckles and around the hand, excluding the thumb.
3 - Chest Size Take measurement under armpits, around fullest part of chest and shoulder blades.

7 - Torso Size Measure from the location of your spine between the tops of your hipbones to the point where your shoulders slope into your neck and your c7 vertebra bumps out if you tip your head forward.
4 - Waist Measurement Size Measure around where you normally wear your pants, keeping the tape measure a bit loose or putting one finger between your body and the tape measure.
