New Health Science Building Announced! • Complex to include the Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy and the Department of Applied Health • exercise science, kinesiology, nutrition and dietetics, public health, and speech-language pathology and audiology

• Complex will be the largest building on the SIUE campus (approximately 221,000 square feet) • Will provide modern classrooms, teaching and research laboratories, faculty offices, administrative spaces, and student resource and study spaces • Will support integrative learning opportunities

Prerequisite Courses: Completed Freshman Year • English Composition I and II • Public Speaking • Inorganic, Organic and Biochemistry with labs • Bacteriology or Microbiology with lab • Anatomy and Physiology I with lab • General Psychology • Human Biology Springboard to Success


Direct Entry Admission Requirements • Eligible for ENG 101* in fall 2020 • Minimum 3.0 prerequisite GPA (including prerequisite courses taken at SIUE or another school), calculated at the end of fall semester freshman year, and again at the end of spring semester freshman year • Complete TEAS assessment by March 1 of freshman year (offered on campus or at some community colleges)

Traditional Option Admission Requirements • Minimum overall GPA: 2.5 • Minimum prerequisite GPA: 3.0 • Prerequisite grades of “C” or better • TEAS assessment by March 1 of freshman year • Nursing applications available online September 15 • Application deadline: March 1 (for fall and spring admission)

Next Steps after Springboard • Complete all of the “fall” nursing prerequisites with a “C” or higher by the end of the fall semester: ENG 101, ACS 101, PSYC 111, BIOL 140, Chem 120A/124A

• Strive to do your best in the fall semester to remain on track for nursing admission. • Schedule your TEAS exam early - (October-February) Due March 1 • Meet with your academic advisor in the fall semester to set up your spring nursing prerequisites! • Use your SIUE study resources!
