Admission Criteria Admission to the University, plus the following additional requirements: •  Completion of all Academic Development courses required by the University •  Completion of any courses required to address School of Engineering high school deficiencies. •  Eligibility to enroll in Pre-Calculus (MATH 125) at a minimum •  Maintenance of a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0


Interested, but not yet eligible to declare? •  Take a college algebra course in summer 2019 •  SIUE (Math 120) •  Community College

•  Take MATH 120 at SIUE in fall 2019 •  Declare engineering in spring 2020 while taking Pre-Calculus (MATH 125)


Pre-Engineering • Declare pre-engineering with a concentration in your intended major • Once you take 300-level engineering classes, you will then declare your major


Admission to Upper Division The following programs require an upper-division application: •  Civil Engineering •  Industrial Engineering •  Mechanical Engineering •  Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering Satisfactory completion of lower-division general education courses with a GPA of at least 2.0 and within the first two years •  English, Speech, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics

Satisfactory completion of lower-division engineering courses with a grade of C or better within the first two years •  CS, CE, ECE, ME

An approved application for admission to upper-division engineering courses. This form is available in the Engineering Student Services office.
