Set up a file in SEHHB’s Student Services office after first semester of college work.

Declare the major after meeting pre-major requirements.

Applications for cohort programs are due in March of the preceding Fall start for Early Childhood, Elementary, Special Education and Secondary Education. This application is for the final two years of the program and is separate from declaring your major.
•
Only courses graded C or higher will count towards licensure requirements (includes major, specified general education courses and professional education coursework).
•
Completing a teacher education program at SIUE will lead to licensure in the State of Illinois, which is transferrable to other states.

Nutrition • Study of foods and nutrients and their effect on the health of individuals • Students can pursue careers in clinical, community and public health, consulting-private practice, food/nutrition business industry, food service, management, research and education, sports and wellness nutrition, and in jobs not requiring Registered Dietitian (RD) certification • Preparation for Master’s Degree to become a Registered Dietician • Employment of nutritionists is expected to increase 20% from 2010 to 2020 - faster than average for all occupations nationally (Bureau of Labor Statistics)
