The Art Room
The art room is one of the creative learning classrooms in the new structure in the front, where the entrance is located at the third floor. It is a double height space with a north facing skylight on the ceiling. The skylight allows daylight to penetrate in throughout the day that minimize the use of artificial lights in the room. Whereas the tilted surface of the skylight can be utilized as a climbing area for the students.
The wall of the art room is thickened as to conceal the thick beam, while keeping the wall surface clean. The area above and below the beam can be used as a built-in shelf. The shelf could be a storage area for those art materials and a place to display students’ artwork. Also, there would be a white board on one side of the wall for teachers to jot down some notes or key findings for the class.
