With a new year comes new optimism and promise. the real estate market here in Florence has been very active of late. In fact, 2017 saw near record numbers in terms of the number of transactions and dollar volume sold, in recent history. And, the start of 2018 shows no signs of anything different.

Despite slightly increasing interest rates (although historically still very low) demand for homes remains strong. Here at Coast we are gearing up for another good year. September 1972: Ted Simmoneau Jr. becomes sole stockholder of the firm.

My husband Mike and I moved from Santa Cruz to Florence in 1980 with our four children. People have asked how we could have possibly moved away from Santa Cruz, California? The answer is that Florence reminded us of Santa Cruz when we were kids in the 60’s, when summers were exciting and busy but winters were quiet and cozy.

And thankfully, Florence is still the same in that respect, and also offers a wider variety of outdoor activities year round!

Alva loves to spend her free time with her whole family. She has been married to Kevin for 16 years. Together they love mountain bike riding, river rafting, traveling, hiking with their dogs, skiing, camping and kayaking.
