ward-winning duo Bettman & Halpin perform original, toe tapping, and heartfelt Americana Folk music. They will perform in Florence on Wednesday, Feb. 5, as part of SEAcoast Entertainment Association’s 2019-20 season. Bettman & Halpin’s live show is a combination of old-time vaudevillian humor and instrumental “wow” factor. Consisting of Stephanie Bettman and Luke Halpin, they have been touring as a duo since 2008. Bettman is an accomplished writer, singer and fiddler. Her lyrics are infused with wit and wisdom, poetry and insight. A former actress and trapeze artist, Bettman is at ease in front of an audience and creates authentic intimacy with her crowd, no matter the size.

Stephanie Bettman & Luke Halpin

Halpin is a renowned multiinstrumentalist, mastering guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo and nearly anything he picks up. A dynamic and sensitive vocalist himself, the harmony blend he

and Bettman achieve is chilling and at times simply transcendent. They have become as known for their storytelling and playful banter as well as for their hooky whole-hearted songwriting and instrumental wizardry. Bettman & Halpin’s high-energy, upbeat bluegrass inspired compositions, beautiful ballads and soaring vocals with groovy feel-good songs will have audiences dancing in their seats and singing in their heads for weeks after. SEAcoast is hosting a pre-concert talk with the artists at 6:15 p.m. before the 7 p.m. show. Tickets are on sale now at the Florence Events Center — 715 Quince St., 541-997-1994 and eventcenter. org — for $35 for adults and $10 for students.

She has produced and performed at major outdoor country music festivals around the country and was a key collaborator with country legend David Frizzell on “Frizzell and Friends,” a compilation of duets with some of the most legendary voices in country music. In 1991, 17-year-old Clawson was chosen to be the lead female vocalist at the David Frizzell Theater in Arkansas. There she met and worked with future husband and Florence native Darby Clawson. Today, the two own and operate Clawson’s Wheelhouse Restaurant near the intersection of Highways 101 and 126 in Florence. Clawson is excited to be releasing her latest acoustical album with a few live bonus tracks. She says this is her best album yet — getting back to her roots.
