SHBFC06 POLYMER WITH MULTIFUNCTIONAL ROLE

A monofasic product with unique mechanical properties

what

how SHBFC06 conjugates a performanced viscoelastic profile with high biological compatibility. This is a particularly attractive substrate for new biocompatible and biodegradable medical applications in tissue engineering and viscosupplementation. It is characterized with an enhanced resistance to enzymatic degradation and longer residence time in situ compared to other similar hydrogels. Based on a versatile and safe approach, its biocompatibility has been verified through in vitro and in vivo experiments. Subcutaneous plant in mice and rats shows a good tolerance and complete absence of toxicity or inflammatory issues.

THE SAME PATH BUT DIFFERENT RESULTS

SAME EFFICENCY, BETTER PERFORMANCES

CLINICAL STUDIES & TESTS IN VIVO EXPERIMENTATION RHEOLOGICAL CHARACTERIZATION

Subcutaneous implantation was investigated in a 13 weeks study on 70 rats. Results obtained exhibit that the implantation in rats was well tolerated. No adverse reaction to test implantation or relevant clinical signs was recorded throughout the study. Histological findings indicate a good tolerability with a positive and progressive process of resorption.

CONCLUSIONS

Rheological studies on strength and viscoelastic modulus show a correlation between chemical synthetic conditions and final properties, with the possibility to obtain products with tailored characteristics using the same chemical approach.

Based on the outcomes of the studies performed, SHBFC06 is able to cover a broad range of applications. The enzymatic resistance is the key for a long term dermal filler. Outstanding range of viscoelasticity allows to develop families of smart devices. Biocompatibility and bioabsorbtion are the right solution for antiadhesion devices.
