SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

CEREMONY

Donors, Scholars, parents and staff gathered at the Glass Hall for an evening of celebration and dinner at the Scholarship Awards Ceremony on 31 January 2019.

The night began with an opening prayer by Brother Larry followed by an address by Mr Roberts. This year’s Guest-of-Honour is Brother Edmundo Fernandez, Brother Visitor of Lasallian East Asia District (LEAD). After his speech, Br Edmundo together with Brother Larry and Mr Kenneth Li - Chairman of the Scholarship Committee - presented Scholarship scrolls to the 12 students.

Local scholar Ming Oon and foreign scholar Joaquin Torres then took the stage to share how the Scholarship has made a difference to their lives; for them, the Scholarship has been truly lifechanging.

Dinner was served, accompanied by performances from SJI International’s very own talented music students Erina Low and Nanami Sweeny, guided by the ever-supportive Head of Music Mrs Ineke Thorpe.

Everyone had a wonderful time celebrating with the Scholars, dining on a wonderful meal and enjoying the music and companionship of the evening. Thanks to the members of the Board of Governors, donors, parents, staff and students, the night was a huge success.

The students assisting at the event were: Nadya Tan and Ritik Chamola (Emcees), Ewan Minjoot, John Tan and Justin Tan (Senior Council Ushers).
