Video games, cartoons and comic books all use 3-D design to create depth and texture. In this class students will learn how to create backgrounds and characters that will want to jump off the page. WINTER CAMPS PRESIDENTS WEEK CAMP @ ALMADEN CC

Come and join staff for a fun filled week of exciting games, challenging sports, and creative art projects. Campers are required to provide their own lunch and water everyday. A newsletter, listing the week's activities and trip information, will be distributed the first day of camp. After camp care will feature low key art and recreation activities. We want to make this camp enjoyable for you and your child. Please let us know any accommodations or requests you may have by contacting 408.268-1133. FUTSAL CAMP

Futsal is a fun, fast-paced 5 v 5 soccer game, played indoors within the lines of the basketball court (no walls), using a small, size 3, low-bounce ball. This week long Futsal camp is a fantastic way to get into the game whether you are trying futsal for the first time or are the next Beckham. Our highly trained professional coaching staff will ensure that your child will improve their technical skills and level of play all while having a great time. PRESCHOOL ARTIST

The long winter months can easily lead to boredom or restlessness. Alleviate any creative dormancy with a fun-filled Yung Rembrandts class! We begin the season with a lesson that teaches our students about shape recognition as they create a colorful pattern using basic geometric shapes. Winter-themed lessons like our snow dome and ice skate drawings will excite the imagination. Baby ballet encourages self-expression and fun! Children learn to respond to music, improve balance and agility, and express their feelings through dance. A variety of music and props such as scarves, and teddy bears keep your little ones entertained. Suggested attire: Comfortable clothes or leotards, tights and tutus. This tap/ballet class introduces children to the basics of both ballet and tap, combining creative movement, grace and balance. Students learn basic tap steps such as shuffles, rhythm exercises, and springs, and elementary ballet including plies, tendus, passes, and the basic ballet positions. During the Aerospace Engineering classes, students use the Engineering Design process to design, create, test and refine a variety of flying machines. They construct a shock absorbing system designed to protect two marshmallow astronauts in a lunar vehicle, crate their own air-powered rockets, and assemble a hot air balloon model that actually takes flight. LITTLE MEDICAL SCHOOL (SESSION 1)

Little Medical School brings medicine, science, and the importance of health to children in an entertaining, exciting, and fun way. Children learn and have fun as they dress up like doctors, learn how to use instruments doctors use, understand how the body works, administer first aid, and even tie knots like a real surgeon. Each child gets their own stethoscope that really works, as well as a diploma upon completion of Little Medical School course. SPORTS LEAGUE ADULT BASKETBALL

Adult Basketball features (2) different leagues based on skill level. Competitive is our intermediate level and Recreation is for co-ed or recreational players. Leagues are offered year round at all levels of play. Team registration fees include league games, 3 man crew referees, scorekeepers, basic stats, playoffs, and awards for the top (2) teams. San Jose Recreation Preschool Please consider the following policies and requirements before registering for a San Jose Recreation Preschool class:       

Requirements for a parent participation, volunteer, snack, etc varies by center. Teacher to child ration is 1:10 or better. Participants must be toilet trained by the first day of program. Non-registered children are not allowed in the class at any time. Please make arrangements for siblings on your participation day. A birth certificate may be requested for age confirmations. The City of San Jose, Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services provide recreational programs ONLY and not licensed childcare. After reaching the class capacity your child can be put on a waitlist. If a spot becomes available at any SJ Recreation Preschool center, you will receive a call and be given the option to enroll at that center or to stay on the waiting list.

LATE PICKUP POLICY The San Jose Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services wants to ensure the safety and well-being of every participant. All fees must be paid prior to the participant returning to class/program. We understand that emergencies may happen.
