ART WITH THE MASTERS

BABY BALLET (PARENT/CHILD)

Learn to use yellow like Van Gough, make Cubist faces like Picasso, and discover the secrets of Monet's Lily Pads. Participants will learn about the world's greatest painters through stories and anecdotes while studying their most famous paintings. They will paint, use acrylic paints, water color, and make collages to create their own masterpieces. All materials will be provided. Instructor: Najam, Marla Location: Almaden Community Center

. Baby Ballet encourages self-expression and fun! Children learn to respond to music, improve balance and agility, and express their feelings through dance. PRE-BALLET

Explore both hip hop & tumbling. Children will learn basic hip hop dance moves to fun kid's music while building confidence, coordination, and rhythm. In tumbling they will have fun doing log rolls, bridges, bear walks, balancing, stretching and jumps. Kids will perform on last day of class. BEGINNING PIANO & KEYBOARDS

Take off on an adventure of super hero fun! Parachutes and tumbling mats, song and dance, arts and crafts, will have super heroes active and moving and imagination flowing. Create your super hero name and activate your super powers then race through our obstacle course and save the day! Instructor: CLAP Location: Almaden Community Center

Students will be taught the basics of playing music on the piano/keyboard. Topics include: basic notes, rhythm and theory as well as finger exercises, chords and scales, all with the goal of being able to play basic keyboard accompaniment parts and fun songs. Provided Materials: Keyboards will be provided for students in class. NOTE: Students will need a keyboard at home for practice. CONTINUING PIANO (YOUTH) This is a follow-up class to Beg. Piano Level 1. Students will work on music rudiments and songs both as a group as well as receive some individual instruction. Topics include playing chords to popular and classic songs, melody playing and beginning solo piano skills. Class curriculum rotates each session so the student can repeat this class up to 4 times. GUITAR LESSON : Level 1 This fun and educational class is for the absolute beginner guitarist. Students will be introduced to the basics of guitar playing and music fundamentals by learning fun, contemporary songs. Topics include tuning, chord strumming, "power" chording, blues and the fundamentals of note and rhythm reading. Students will need to have their own acoustic guitar or electric guitar. PUBLIC SPEAKING TED TALKS STYLE

Aloha! Come join this under the sea dance adventure as we dance to the music of Moana, Ariel and more! Children will learn dance styles like Ballet, Jazz, Creative Dance, and Tumbling. We will have story time, learn about the ocean, do fun themed crafts, do the limbo, have a sing a long party, play with beach balls and much more! Don?t miss the boat and come sail away with us in this action packed camp. Please bring a bag meal each day for our luau time and a water bottle. This is an exciting summer camp where the students will pick topics do their research and then present their ideas TED Talk style in the class. The topics will cover a wide range of issues from global to local matters. The students will discuss some of the TED Talks and their speakers presentation styles.
