COACHES NEEDED
CLINIC / DRAFT DAY for “Future Stars” and “Elite Basketball League” will be on: Saturday, April 4, 2020
Volunteer Coaches are essential for a successful league. If you’re interested in being a volunteer coach, please indicate so on the registration form. A big part of the sport league's success is having volunteers like you as a part of the team. The City of San Jose has a policy that requires potential volunteers with supervisory or disciplinary control over minors at recreation centers to be fingerprinted. The fingerprints are then sent to the California Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for criminal background checks. If interested, please call Tomas Loredo at 408-794-1066

Project Power Type 2 Diabetes Prevention Camp Is your child diagnosed with pre-diabetes or pre-pre-diabetes? Are they close to being diagnosed? Has your pediatrician encouraged your child to eat healthier, exercise more, or lose weight? If you said YES to any of these questions, then this camp is for you! Come have fun and learn about healthy lifestyle choices. This is a camp with art, sports, activities, healthy snacks, and health and wellness education. Project Power is the American Diabetes Association’s (ADA) initiative to offer school aged youth interactive sessions on nutrition education and physical activity to foster active living and healthy eating. This summer camp experience will offer kids an opportunity to make and try a healthy snack every day, learn about nutrition, and play games that increase their physical activity in a fun way! This camp is a joint collaboration between the City of San Jose and the American Diabetes Association and is funded with a grant by Santa Clara County. Notes: This camp is for children ages 8-15 who are at risk for developing Type 2 Diabetes - family history, sedentary lifestyle, weight management issues, etc. Priority will be given to children who are diagnosed with pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes.
