EDUCATION & ENRICHMENT PUBLIC SPEAKING—CONFIDENT SPEAKERS AND WRITEERS This course teaches young students how to present and write speeches, poems, and stories in six easy steps. The students learn how to structure their many ideas and express them with confidence. With topics of their interests and encouraging them to use props, stories, jokes, and pictures, we make learning all these easy and exciting! MUSIC BEGINNING PIANO & KEYBOARDS (YOUTH) Students will be taught the basics of playing music on the piano/keyboard. Topics include: basic notes, rhythm and theory as well as finger exercises, chords and scales, all with the goal of being able to play basic keyboard accompaniment parts and fun songs. Keyboards will be provided for students in class. However, students will need a keyboard at home for practice. Recommended resources for purchasing or renting a keyboard will be provided at the first class. **There is an additional $10 fee for materials payable to the instructor in class. GUITAR LESSONS: LEVEL 1 This fun and educational class is for the absolute beginner guitarist. Students will be introduced to the basics of guitar playing and music fundamental by learning fun, contemporary songs. Topics include tuning, chord strumming, "power" chording, blues and the fundamentals of note and rhythm reading. Students will need to have their own acoustic guitar or electric guitar. MUSIC BEGINNING & CONTINUING YOUTH UKULELE For beginning students to learn fundamental skills needed to play ukulele! Continuing students will expand on materials playing more songs and develop note reading skills. All Students will receive some individual instruction during course. Learn rhythms, strumming patterns, and notes reading for popular songs. Class members will learn to play basic chords and to play songs in folk, rock, and Hawaiian styles.
