SQUARE DANCING Square Dancing is lots of fun. In addition this activity has all of the elements of a healthy life style! YOUTH CENTER Come check out the Camden Youth Center… A FREE drop in program for youth and teens ages 11-18 years old Monday through Friday, 3:00—6:00pm (Tuesday, 2:00-6:00pm) The youth center offers a safe place for youth and teens to spend their afternoons. Daily activities include homework assistance, arts and crafts, sports, cooking activities, pool, ping pong, foosball, video games and more. SPORTS TENNIS - MINI An introductory program for the young athlete. Fundamental ball skills, movement and coordination exercises will be included. Using the Quick Start Format ? age & skill appropriate racquets, balls & court, and a games-based approach to learning ? your child will learn the proper fundamentals to enjoy the game. Learn tennis drills and methods you can do with your child. Participants must provide their own racquet and wear proper tennis shoes (no black soled shoes, please!). Todd Dissly Athletics (TDA) was honored by Racquet Sports Industry (RSI) as the 2013 Champion of Tennis. In 2012 TDA was awarded the USPTA Service to Tennis Award. THERAPEUTIC RECREATION ADAPTED FITNESS
AROUND THE TOWN CLUB
Don't put it off any longer! The time has come to jump start your fitness level. The program is located at the fully equipped Camden Community Fitness Center and individuals 18 and up with a physical disability are welcome. Each participant will receive a customized workout program designed to achieve their personal fitness goals. Participants must be able to function in a 1:5 staff to participant ratio, independent with personal care needs or provide an attendant for personal care. Attendants will be required to pass a City of San Jose background check in programs that serve youth under 18 years of age. Location: Camden Community Center, Fitness Rm
Join us for a night on the town! This social club utilizes community trips to improve socialization, leisure awareness and independent living skills. Try new things and explore your community with the support and encouragement of friendly, knowledgeable staff. Past activities have included movies, restaurants, sporting events, theme events and nights at the theatre. The first night of the program will be held at Camden Community Center. Location thereafter varies based on participants chosen activities. Participants will be assigned to a group the first night. An event calendar will be passed out the second week of program. Members must be able to participate within a 1:6 staff to participant ratio and independent with their personal care needs or provide an attendant. Please note: registration fee covers staffing costs only. Additional weekly fees may be required based on chosen activity costs. We've got a new day and time! Basketball, Rugby, Soccer, Bocce, you play it and we offer it! Wheels on Fire is a sports team designed for athletes who enjoy a variety of sports. No wheelchair? No problem, we have extra chairs for use during program. Athletes of all abilities are welcome. The team practices basic sports skills, team cooperation and rules of competitive play. This program focuses on exposure to a variety of wheelchair sports with the option for competitive skill development. We may also engage in special activities such as field trips and holiday parties. The menu is listed in the monthly brochure that is available at the center. Call our 24 hour hotline at 408-371-2888 to make reservations at least one day, but no more than two weeks in advance. Your host, Nutrition Manager Ami Jones looks forward to welcoming you to our group!
