SJ RECREATION PRESCHOOL Please consider the following policies and requirements before registering for an ECR class offered by the City of San José Parents provide snack and stay to volunteer 1-2 times during the session. Non-registered children are not allowed in the class at any time. Please make arrangements for siblings on your participation day. A birth certificate may be requested for age confirmations. Participants must be toilet trained by first day of program (with the exception of the Time for Two’s and Three’s At The Farm) The City of San José, Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services provide recreational programs ONLY and not licensed childcare. Class maximum is 20 or fewer. After reaching the capacity your child can be put on a waitlist. Teacher to child ratio is 1:10

THE HATCHERY (KINDER TOT AND TINY TOT)
Little Sprouts introduces two and three year olds to the classroom environment. Children will develop socialization and fine -motor skills through songs, games, and activities. Be prepared to meet farm animals and spend time in the garden. Parents are required to stay each meeting, but children will transition to being independent. Parents will also participate in providing healthy snacks.
This program is an opportunity to introduce preschoolers to farm life and animals. Activities will include caring for farm animals, songs, stories, crafts, garden fun and games to develop socialization skills, eye-hand coordination and motor skills. Your child will also learn alphabet sounds, shapes, and colors. Participants must be toilet trained.

CHEESE MAKING CLASS
PIZZA A LA PRUSCH
Learn the basics of cheese making! Participants will make fresh farmhouse cheese and have the opportunity to sample other freshly made dairy products. Join us at the farm and prepare to get cheesy! All materials will be provided.
This class will demonstrate how pizza is made from the dough up. Participants will practice kneading, tossing pizza dough, and learn how to make various sauces. Participants will also have the opportunity to take home a dough ball and fresh vegetables from the garden.

WINTER CAMPS FEBRUARY 21-24, 2017 WINTER BREAK ON THE FARM CAMP
OUTDOOR ADVENTURE CAMP AT ALUM ROCK
Get up and come out to the farm! This program will feature animal chores, arts and crafts projects, games, sports, gardening, cooking and much more! This is an excellent opportunity for children to have an educational hands-on farm experience. Hurry and enroll now! Participants must bring their own lunch, snacks, and drinks to camp everyday. PLEASE NOTE: Camp will not be held on Monday, February 20, 2017 in observance of President's Day.
Spend your winter break at Outdoor Adventure Camp located at Alum Rock Park. Activities include nature hikes, outdoor games, crafts, campfire smores, educational lesson plans on wildlife, plants, and history of the park. Campers meet in the Visitor Center everyday at Alum Rock Park. Participants must bring their own lunch, snacks, and drinks to camp everyday. HORSE RIDES & RIDING LESSONS, INSTRUCTED BY CHAPARRAL COUNTY CORPORATION AT EMMA PRUSCH FARM PARK! HORSE RIDES AT THE PRUSCH FARM Take your child on a safe and fun horse ride. Our seasoned horses are here for your kids to enjoy. This ride is for children ages 2 to 6 years. Helmet is required and supplied at no cost. Horse rides are available Saturdays and Sundays (weather permitting) from 12:00pm-4:00pm. Each horse ride is $10 per child per approximately 10 minutes. Registrations are taken on a drop-in basis during the weekends. Horse rides will be held in the livestock barn.

EMMA PRUSCH FARM PARK REGISTRATION POLICIES
Our method of registration is designed to offer equal access to all. San José residents and Active Adult members are eligible for early registration. Customers can register for any class at any PRNS facility. Registration will be accepted in person, mail, fax, or online. Phone registrations will not be accepted. Registration forms will be processed in the order they are received. Registration will be accepted until the second class meeting if the course is still available. If the course requested is full, the participant will be registered for their second choice or placed on a wait list. Please be prompt when dropping off or picking up your child from his/her class. Children may not enter the class until the scheduled class or activity time. Children who arrive late to a class or activity should enter quietly and join in the activity. If a class is cancelled by the City, a make-up class will be added to the end of the session. In the event that a class cannot be rescheduled for a make-up by the City, a refund will be issued for the missed class. If the participant misses a class, no refunds will be issued. All wait list participants will be contacted only if there is an available spot in the class.
REFUND/TRANSFER POLICY All refund and transfer requests need to be made in writing. Request may be submitted in person to any PRNS facility or by email to SJRegistration@sanjoseca.gov. All refund and transfer requests must be received at least 14 calendar days prior to the start of the program/class. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received less than 14 calendar days prior to the start of the program/class. There will be a $10 refund processing fee for EACH activity and EACH child.If a class was paid with cash or check, a refund check will be mailed and may take 6-8 weeks for processing. If a class was paid with a credit card, the refund will be credited back to the credit card. It may not be possible to refund the class materials charged by the instructor. Refund and transfers may not be done online. Transfers must be requested for classes in the same season.
MINIMUM ENROLLMENT/CLASS CANCELLATION The City of San José, Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services reserves the right to the cancel any class or activity that does not meet a set minimum enrollment. Please register early to avoid class cancellations. We will make every effort to notify you at least five days prior to the scheduled course starting date. Please do not purchase supplies until five days prior to the start of the class. If a class is canceled, you will receive a full refund from the City, excluding class supplies.
SATISFACTION GUARANTEED We want to provide quality programs to all participants. If you are not satisfied with your program, please let us know. Contact staff at your local facility or email us at SJRegistration@sanjoseca.gov

PAYMENT PLANS POLICY
Automatic payments are processed on the twentieth (20 th) day of each month. A full payment is required to hold your child’s spot for the following month. Additionally, if payment is not received by the 1st of the month, students will be withdrawn from the class. If your credit/debit card account changes, please notify the community center front desk staff. If you do not plan to have your child continue, we request that you notify the community center staff at least two (2) weeks prior to your child’s last day. This will allow us to stop your automatic payment on time.
LATE PICK UP POLICY The City of San José, Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services wants to ensure the safety and well-being of every participant. Participants must be picked up at the scheduled class end time. If, after five minutes, a participant is not picked up, we may charge $1.00 per participant for every minute thereafter. All fees must be paid prior to the participant returning to the class. We understand that emergencies may happen. If you have any emergency and are unable to pick up your child on time, contact the community center.
INCLUSION POLICY The City of San José, Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services (PRNS) encourages and supports the participation of individuals with all ability levels in programs and services. To facilitate opportunities for people with and without disabilities and to engage in leisure pursuits together, PRNS provides inclusion support services. These services include, but are not limited to interpreters for the deaf or hearing impaired, improved signage, activity modification, additional staff training, accessible equipment and facility features and support staff. To ensure the consideration of the requested accommodation, please notify the specific facility where the program is provided at least two weeks in advance.
