Yacht club offers free boat rides

There may be 17,000 residents on Fidalgo Island, but a lot of them never get a chance to ride a boat.

Yacht Club members host free rides on their boats during both days of the festival, with options for both power and sailboats.

But the spots fill up fast.

Visitors should look for the yacht club near the entrance to the marina to sign up for a time slot.

Boat riders should wear closed-toe shoes and must sign a waiver before heading out. There are age limits.

Rides are typically about 45 minutes.
