Congratulations LS Class of 2022

A

s we began planning for you, the Leadership Skagit Class of 2022, we looked forward to being in real space together after a year and a half of virtual meetings due to the pandemic. Rather than re-create Leadership Skagit as it always had been, we combined the best of our tools and resources from virtual offerings with the rich experiential days and leadership projects that have always been a part of the program to create a vibrant and collaborative learning experience. It was not quite business as usual though as we managed the limitations and awkwardness of social distancing and masking while trying to build connections. I was so happy to get to see your smiling faces for the first time this winter! We also needed to learn how to offer the program in hybrid in-person and online mode to accommodate everyone who was quarantining. A big shout out to Locke Elder, LS ’20, who saw us struggling and stepped in to manage this new form of delivery. Many of you had to shoulder extra responsibilities caring for family, adding responsibilities as workplaces adjusted to post-pandemic workforce shortages and other demands. You have inspired us by staying committed to the demands of Leadership Skagit. We knew you were leaders before you even began and your resilience, engagement, and joy have been a testimony to that all year long.

Leadership Skagit Class of 2022!

Our program would not be possible without the commitment of many of our graduates and other community volunteers. Our stellar volunteer facilitator who showed up every program day for the past two years is Jorge Estefan, LS ’20. We had 30 amazing leaders engaged in planning LEADERSHIP SKAGIT 2022
