They still determine the applicable standards in this area to this day. All shoes are described as occupational shoes if they have slip-resistant, antistatic or similar characteristics and generally do not have special toe protection. Models with toe protection are divided into two categories: protective shoes (plastic toecap, impact energy of up to 100 joules) and safety shoes (steel toecap, impact energy of up to 200 joules). Our soles have been tested by TÜV Rheinland and must meet the standards for one of the following categories: · SRA – Slip resistance on ceramic tiles with detergent · SRB – Slip resistance on steel floor with glycerine Antistatic clogs – anti-static, especially comfortable and can be disinfected

CROSS SECTION OF THE CORK–LATEX FOOTBED

LAYER FOR LAYER – PURE FUNCTION Natural cork makes up 90% of the footbed. This premium raw material, which stems from the bark of the cork oak, is mixed with natural latex to make a very flexible, light shell. Cork’s outstanding shock-absorbing properties relieve pressure on the sole of the foot by absorbing the impact and the weight of the body. The natural raw material is very elastic and returns to its original shape when pressure is removed. Cork provides insulation against heat and cold, and also has excellent antibacterial properties. It is also capable of absorbing moisture quickly and releasing it again.

Latex is the natural glue for the footbed. It simply envelopes the cork grain in a loose matrix and thus enables it to maintain all the properties described above. The cork–latex core is covered above and below by jute fabric, which acts as a stabiliser.
