FLASH CURE
SCREEN PRINTING
FLASH CURE is an intermediate dryer preheater for textile inks. Equipped with short waves infrared transmitters, it is composed of a heating element and a base. It is available in 2 pre-drying formats : 40 x 40 and 40 x 60 cm. • THE HEATING UNIT Depending on the format, it combines several 2 Kw lamps. The start of each cycle is controlled by a contact rod which detects the board under the machine head. A first timer sets precisely the drying time. An air jet cools down the mesh at the end of each cycle. A second timer sets this cooling time. The FLASH CURE heating unit is designed exclusively for intermittent operation.
• BASE It is easily adjustable in height. It is equipped with 4 wheels to facilitate its positioning above the carrousel. For the treatment of fragile meshes, FLASH CURE is equipped with a half-power programming and with a cooling during the heating time. This unit is one of the strongest in this kind of equipment. It is manufactured in compliance with the NFC 20-30 directive. Flash can be adapted on automatic MHM carrousels. In that configuration, it is supplied with 2 sliding bars .

• Working process Drying is obtained by the action of hot air jets on printed materials. Each element contains a powerful turbine which ensures the quick air circulation. In the heating element, air is heated when passing on reinforced resistances. It is then recycled in order to realize energy savings and the appropriate setting on the conveyor of the thinnest sheets. Each element is equipped with an extracting turbine. • Characteristics - stable and resistant teflon-glass blanket - electronic speed variation from 0,1 to 15 m/mn (please consult us for other reduction ratios) - parallelism and belt conveyor tension adjustments - temperature regulation controlled by thermostat - easy access to main switch and emergency knobs - large diameter ducts (200 mm) to exhaust solvent fumes Thanks to its strong construction, its meticulous thermal insulation, its soundless functioning, this JA drying tunnel is a particularly homogeneous and efficient equipment in compliance with the current requirements of hygiene and energy savings.

DRYING RACKS
SCREEN PRINTING
The stiff and monobloc frame is manufactured with welded iron profiles. This equipment rests on four rubber pivoting wheels with a double row of balls for an easy movement even when it is full loaded. The racks are made of welded iron thread protected by zinc plating. An original design of the guides provides a perfect locking which avoids lapping and twisting of the shelves. Two return springs allow the stand in up-right position of each rack. The 2cm interval which separates them in the lower position has been studied to obtain a better air circulation, and consequently a better drying. Furthermore, allied with the rack rigidity, that interval eliminates any risk of blotting with the last printed item when the next rack is loaded. For oven drying, we offer in the same sizes, 70 x 100 and 85 x 125 cm, trolleys mounted with wast iron wheels. They exist with 31, 52 or 60 racks.

SCREEN PRINTING
This manual machine can print on any flat surface (papers, cartons, adhesives, plastic sheets, wood and plastic panels, textiles...) up to 5cm thick. Its scraping process ensures printing quality and regularity and reduces the user’s physical efforts. It is supplied with the printing maxi size corresponding squeegee: 70 or 90 cm according to the machine. • Printing table Its frame in welded steel tube ensures a perfect stiffness and stability. A shelf is set halfway down in order to store ink tins, squeegees... The frame helds the printing table, an aluminium punched panel which is absolutly stiff and withstands any kind of inks and diluters. The table slant facilitates the setting of the item which is kept held by a strong pump. The screen up and down movements automatically control the vacuum situated under the printing table. • The printing system is composed of parallel and interdependent bars - The first one is hexagonal and bears the screen holder bars which can be separately moved according to the screen sizes. The screen fastening in the slides is reinforced by manual clamping screws with washers in order to prevent frame scratches. - The second one is cylindrical and ensures the longitudinal guiding of the scraping system. • The scraping system is composed of: • a carriage on which the following elements are set: - 2 diabolo nylon wheels (spol shaped) and 2 cylindrical wheels mounted on ball-bearing to ensure a regular and even sliding. - 2 adjustable nylon stops to raise the screen and lift the squeegee. The squeegee slant may be modified according to the requirement during the printing or the flooding. • a handle which carries the carriage and bears the squeegee holder that can be moved along the handle. • a sliding counterweight with a stop to prevent its fall. On the 60 x 80 cm machine, it is sufficient enough to balance squeegee and screen while on the 80 x 120 cm machine, 2 additional counterweights are set at the end of the parallel bars. • Adjustments Thanks to the longitudinal micrometric adjustment and to the transversal micrometric adjustments set on each slide of the frame holder, the registration is easy to realize by moving the screen. The «one arm» printing machine is unanimously appreciated thanks to its numerous possibilities, its easy adjustments and its 1-phase electrical feeding.

PNEUMATIC AUTOMATIC WASHING UNIT
SCREEN PRINTING
This pneumatic automatic washing unit is airtight manufactured, uses no electricity but only compressed air. The pneumatic automatic washing unit is completly manufactured in stainless steel. It is equipped with an extracting screen holder in order to facilitate its loading. Inside the tank, 2 washing ramps slide on each side of the screen holder. This movement alongside the screen washing stand is obtained by the outside movement of a magnetic field. The solvent is placed under pressure by a pneumatic pump. The 2 washing ramps, equipped with nozzles, can be oriented in order to oppose solvent jets to the ramps movements. Fan-shaped, they softly wash the most fragile screens. This material is tightly closed even during the door opening. A compressed air curtain stops the solvents emanations during the screens loading and unloading operations. The automatic pneumatic ink washing stand is manufactured in 3 versions : • L washing unit (as described above) • LS washing and blowing unit (an air circulation drains the screen) • LRS washing, rinsing and blowing unit (a clean solvent rinsing completes the washing cycle). All these machines are equipped with stainless steel tanks, meant to store the solvents. They are compatible with the solvent recycling unit with removable tanks (see corresponding documentation). L and LS models are equipped with one tank, LRS models with 2 tanks (cleaning and rinsing solvents).

MANUAL PNEUMATIC WASHER
SCREEN PRINTING
This equipment is used to clean screens manually, under optimum safety conditions for the operator. By simply re-using filtered solvents, it also protects the workplace environment and allows savings to be made. It requires no electrical connection and operates from a compressed air supply. The machine has two brushes, each with a central solvent feed. Chemical and manual actions combine to give more effective washing. Solvents are distributed by a pneumatic pump with a Teflon membrane: the system is also fitted with a regulating filter and pressure gauge. After the washing operation, the solvents descend by gravity into a purification and storage tank, where they are purified ready for use in a new cycle. Washing can be completed by flushing with clean solvents. Removable covers retain solvent vapours within the tank. A flue, optionally linked to a mechanical extraction system, takes vapours to the exterior. In the interests of operator safety, the equipment requires no electrical connection and operates on compressed air only.

FRAMES AND SCREENS
SCREEN PRINTING
We manufacture a complete range of different frames. In order to answer any requirement, we offer bare frames, pre-sensitised or finished screens. • Bare frames - in aluminium : they offer a very good dimensional stability and are very light. They are rustproof and withstand water and solvents. The standard outside dimensions increase by 10 cm steps. On request, we manufacture any shape, section and size. - in wood : they are still commonly used. The standard outside dimensions increase by 10 cm steps. On request, we manufacture any shape, cross section and particular sizes. • Pre-stretched screens Our stretching department manufactures the above mentionned frames straight or edge stretched with a complete range of meshes from 18 up to 200 mesh/cm in nylon* or polyester, white, or coloured. We also restretch used frames, provided they are not damaged. Thanks to high performance equipment, we also supply high-tech pre-stretched screens in 2 special aluminium sections. • Special screens We can manufacture special frames in the most various shapes : curved, round, excentered, tubular... and with different sections : metal corners, reinforcing, grooves, separations...
• Custom works Our production studio, which is equipped with CAD workstation, handles the drafting and implementation of the most complex artwork. FABRICS
SCREEN PRINTING
Our fabrics are produced using yarn diameters that are rigorously constant and perfectly controlled. Extremely regular weaving is essential for obtaining quality prints and is guaranteed by the use of the most modern looms. The large quantities of fabric we process allow us to provide you with one of the best quality/price ratios on the market. All our fabrics are monofilament and have been heat stabilised. They are highly resistant to water, solvents, oxidants and chlorinated products. Print work can be removed and the fabric can be used several times. • Polyester fabrics These are characterised by a high tear resistance, an above-average even extensibility in the 2 directions and a reduced loss of tension. They are abrasion-resistant and waterproof (0.4 % at 20°C and 65% relative humidity). • Polyamide fabrics (specially manufactured on request) These are completely abrasion-resistant. They are more permeable than polyester fabrics (4.4 % at 20°C and 65 % relative humidity). These fabrics are suitable for printing on irregular surfaces. They are recommended for direct printing on ceramics. • Fabric dyeing Dyeing the fabric enhances the screen exposure precision and therefore the print quality. All our fabrics are white or dyed.

• General remarks - a squeegee blade with rounded angle deposits more ink than one sharpened at a right angle - a soft squeegee blade deposits more ink than a hard one - to print a fine or half tone pattern a very hard and perfectly sharpened squeegee blade must be used - the greater the angle of inclination of the squeegee blade, the more ink is deposited - absence of squeegee blade inclination can be compensated by sharpening the blade at an angle (possible with our inclined plane sharpener) - the print quality is directly related to the quality of the squeegee blade: a worn doctor blade is a bad tool.

CAPILLARY FILMS
SCREEN PRINTING
Diazofilm is a pre-sensitised diazo photofilm for use with solvent-based and UV inks. It combines all the advantages of an indirect film (regular layer and high definition) with those of a direct emulsion. Diazofilm is made of a 20 or 30-micron thick emulsion, laid on a 75-micron polyester carrier.
Its use is simple, quick and clean. The film is mounted by capillarity after wetting both sides of the screen. To obtain a good quality mounting of the Diazofilm, it is necessary to pre-treat the material with Prep’écran (see page : Products for screen manufacturing). This film offers excellent definition, great solidity and a perfect dimensional stability. The reclamation of screens exposed with Diazofilm is easy with Oxygel, Oxysol or Oxylic screen reclaimer followed by a final high pressure wash out. Diazofilm (20 or 30-micron) is packaged in 10 x 1,04 m rolls.

The FLASHCOLOR inks are used with coated screens with Diazo S (19 S, 149 S) or Diazo - Photopolymer (UST, 200S) or Graphic HU, Textil HT, Textil PV solutions... The fabric mesh is chosen according to the work to be carried out. FLASHCOLOR inks can be used in two ways: - Direct printing: For multiple printing, we recommend flashing between each colour. After suitable heating treatment, the printed substrates at ambient temperature are touch dry and flexible. Flashing time and polymerization time depend on the following factors : • ink type, colour and printed thickness • printed substrate, nature and colour • equipment used and its environment. When a minimum flashing time is required, we recommend you to use our flash cure white. Drying depends on the thickness of the ink film (the complete thickness of the ink film must reach the correct temperature), the material, the drying time, the colour of the ink and the support (extreme case of white on black fabric) and the fabric composition. Remarks: When printing with FLASHCOLOR ink on textiles which are fragile at temperature of 150-160°C, catalyst XD 150 (representing 5% of the ink weight) can be added to the ink. The polymerization temperature may therefore be lowered by 10 - 20°C. In this case, the pot life will be about 8 hours. Catalyst XD 150 will be used either to ensure a complete drying of a thick layer, either in case of a temperature sensitive thread or to reinforce the polymerization of gold and silver colours. Blend the ink before use. Use only referenced additives - Printing by transfer (refer to data sheet «TEXTILE TRANSFER»)
Storage AND Toxicology The FLASHCOLOR inks comply with EN 71-3 standard.

TIFLEX would like to draw you attention to the following points: Before starting production, you are recommended to check the ink compatibility and resistance on a textile by washing the finished article according to the conditions indicated on its label. Washing resistance may be reduced with some dyes rich in bases or white (transparent or pastel colours). The washing resistance may also be reduced due to fibrillation (fibres projecting through the printing). This phenomenon is independent of the ink polymerisation. XD 150 catalyst will be used either to ensure complete polymerisation of a thick layer or when using a fabric with poor temperature resistance. High washing temperatures associated with powerful detergents may lead to colour changes with some colours including gold and silver.

High washing temperatures associated with powerful detergents may lead to colour changes with some colours including gold and silver.

The EVEREST inks are used with screens coated with Diazo S (19S/149S) or Diazo-Photopolymer (UST, 200S) or Graphic HU, Textil HT, Textil PV solutions. Fabric mesh is chosen based on the work to be carried out. For multiple printing, we recommend you to flash between each colour. After suitable heating treatment, the printed substrates, at ambient temperature, are touch dry and flexible. Times for flashing and polymerization are based on: • The ink, its colour, and the thickness deposited • The printed substrate, its make-up , its colour • The material used and its environment Note: we also recommend you to add our hardener XD 150 (representing 5% of the ink weigh) in case of printing of fragile fabrics (polymerization at 150°C/160°C). Then the temperature of polymerization could be lowed from 10°C to 20°C. In that case, “pot life” will be around 8 hours. The hardener will be used either to ensure complete polymerization of a wide layer, either in case of a specific washing resistance (fragile fabric) or for a short drying in an IR oven. Transfer printing will be done with the Everest ink like the other plastisol inks in general and you can use a special Everest adhesive. Blend the ink before use. Use only referenced additives
Storage AND Toxicology The Everest inks comply with the norm EN 71-3 and can be printed on Oekotex 100 Class 1 babies clothes.

The AQUADIR inks are used with coated screens with 19T, 200T, UST or Textil HT solutions. The fabric mesh is chosen according to the work to be carried out. To achieve maximum opacity, we recommend you to use size of mesh from 36 and 70 fibres/cm. For multiple printing, we recommend you to flash between each colour. The last layer has to be dried in an IR tunnel during 2 minutes at 160°C. In case of ink blending combined with low temperature hardener to avoid pigments migration, drying conditions will consequently be 100°C for 2 mn.

Please respect the following points: Before you start printing pass the transfer paper through the dryer to condition the transfer paper prior to printing. Polymerization of the ink on the transfer support could lead to problems with adhesion to the fabric. Preliminary tests must be carried out to check the resistance of the textile to the press and ensure paper to textile transfer. Adding a big quantity of pigment concentrates (30%) can damage the transfer, particularly if used exposure. Particular case: in case of drying over 60°C - special base 3Y2804 - Powder PU 3Y2911 - Covering white 3524087 to prepare various shades

TIFLEX would like to draw your attention to the following points: Washing resistance may be reduced with some dyes rich in bases or white (transparent or pastel colours). The washing resistance may also be reduced due to fibrillation (fibres projecting through the printing) with some fabrics. This phenomenon is independent of the ink polymerisation. Before starting production, you are recommended to check the ink compatibility and resistance on a textile by washing the finished article according to the conditions indicated on its label.

Discharge ink Water based ink composed of a base (coloured or not) and an additive. Discharge ink (base + additive) removes the back dye of a cotton fabric. The addition of a pigment concentrate to this preparation allows to replace the initial dying by a new one. Acting as a decoloration/dying process, the printed areas has no touch and does not require a underlayer of white on dark fabrics. CAUTION: only some textile back dyes can be removed with discharge inks. So please check with the fabric manufacturer if the fabric could match with the discharge ink (we strongly advise you to perform some tests).
SPECIFICATIONS ¾¾Water based acrylic base ¾¾pH: 8-9 ¾¾Ionic character: anionic/non ionic ¾¾Pot life: 8 hours after adding the additive
colours They can be obtained by mixing the base.
PREPARATION OF THE colours MIX: 2% to 5% pigment concentrate to 98-95% base. The colour preparation has to be done prior to the addition of additive.
USE Before use, the additive must be mixed with the base or with the coloured base and pigment or with white colour in the following proportions: On clear substrates Base or white or coloured base: 850g Additive: 50g On dark substrates Base or white or coloured base: 850g Additive: 100g The additive must be perfectly mixed with the base or colours. After printing, the fabrics must not be stored for more than 2 hours at ambient temperature to ensure that the active product does not penetrate more into the fabric and does not bleach a larger area more than expected. Drying: 2mn at 160°C. Thinner: It will need to be diluted, if necessary, with maximum 5% of water. Cleaning the screens: Water Screen: 36 to 77 threads/cm Emulsion: 200T (resistant to water based inks).

Textile transfer ADDITIONAL PRODUCTS
USE 1) Printing of the reversed patern on the silicon paper. 2) Pregelling in the tunnel : 1 mn to 100-110°C function of the equipment. Prints are not polymerisded. 3) Transfer on the textile by heating press with these following conditions : pressure 3 to 5 bars, temperature : 170-190°C, time 20 - 30 s. 4) Take off the silicon paper after total cooling. N.B. : For a better adherence on the textil, use adhesive powder (ref. 3863327). Using advices: • Put the paper with blanks in IR tunnel before starting printing. • For a transfer application, ink polymerisation on the paper would bring defects for textil transfer. • Test textil resistance under the press and also for transfer from paper to textil. Advantage polyester versus paper: transparency and thermic stability. Advantage of polyester film over siliconed paper: shiny polyester film can be used as a surfacing film in order that your direct printings or transfer printings get a glazed finish. Concerning the transfer of AQUATRANS, DREAMFLASH and POLYTHANE inks, please refer to the related pages describing each of them.

SCREEN PRINTING
glossy elastic base Reference in 1 l: 3954091 This base retains its flexibility even in the case of large deposits. The quantity of product deposited will be a function of the mesh and the screen’s coated. The most interesting results are obtained using a cloth from 68 – 64 to 100 – 40 and 400 µ thick capillary films. This base can be used pure or in a mixture with Flashcolor ink, depending on the results required. - Shiny transparent printing: In this case the shiny elastic base is used on its own. It gives different effects, for example the “plastic” varnish, drop of water effect, depending on the way in which it is deposited. It is polymerized at 160°C. The time it spends in the tunnel depends on the thickness deposited. For the transfer, use a mixture of the Flashcolor blending base + plastisol shiny base in a 70/30 ratio by weight. Application and transfer are done under the usual conditions. Depending on the paper used, the surface is either satin or glossy. - “Tar” and anti-slip pin printing: If the shiny elastic base is mixed with Flashcolor or Oekoflash colours, it increases their shininess and elasticity. Once again, the extent of the deposit will depend on the screen’s coating. It is polymerised under the usual conditions taking the deposit into account. - Shiny base and shiners printing: Shiners can be incorporated into the shiny base and the mixture screen printed on the cloth using a 10 to 21 threads/cm mesh screen depending on the particle size of the shiners used. It is polymerised under the usual conditions taking the deposit into account. Shiners can also be transferred using the following mixture by weight, for example: - Flashcolor thinner base: - glossy elastic base: - shiners:
60 20 20 --100
The mixture applied to transfer paper, pregelled and transferred under the usual press conditions (temperature 170 - 190°C, 10 to 30 seconds action time and 3 to 5 bars pressure). Depending on the paper used, the surface is either satin or glossy. - Elastic cloth printing: The glossy elastic base is mixed in a 30 to 40% ratio with a Flashcolor or Oekoflash ink. It is polymerized by passing through an IR tunnel (2 minutes at 160°C). The addition of 5% XD 150 catalyst reduces the polymerisation temperature by 15 to 20°C. The shiny elastic base is also used for printing in thick layers. It then preserves the flexibility of the printed areas. In this precise case, you are strongly recommended to use XD 150 hardener in order to ensure complete polymerisation.
FLASHCOLOR SOFT THINNER BASE Reference in 1 l: 3962006 - Reference in 5 l: 3964006
This thinner base reduces the viscosity of the ink and consequently its feel on the printed textile. It is mixed in a proportion of from 10 to 20% with the Flashcolor inks with the exception of the four-colour process tints. Usual polymerisation: 2 minutes at 160°C. It is not used alone.
FLASHCOLOR pearl base Reference in 1 l: 3962007 - Reference in 5 l: 3964007 This base gives a pearl effect to the ink applied. The Flashcolor ink is mixed with the pearl base in a maximum ration of 5%. It is used on a white ground and applied with a 21- 140 WPW screen. Usual polymerization: 2 min. at 160°C.
PUFF transfer base Reference in 5 l: 3954094
“Puff” transfers already exist in the U.S.A. but the “puff” base is an innovation because it allows screen printers to create their transfer plates themselves. This base is used blended with the inks or the Flashcolor base and must not make up more than half of the mixture. The mixture is then applied either directly on silicon coated paper or on the Flashcolor print already present on the transfer paper. The screen is chosen in accordance with the effect required. The “puff” transfer is pregelled under the usual conditions: 30 to 60 seconds at 105/110°C (to be determined by testing). - Transfer conditions: - top plate temperature: 190°C - pressure: 5 to 6 bars - time: 4 to 10 seconds The transfer conditions are determined by testing. A compromise between expansion and solidity of the transfer must be found. - Result: You get a pattern that stands out in relief with a smooth soft surface. The relief effects will be optimised by restrictions on the printing.
PLASTISOL expansible base Reference in 1 l: 3952090 - Reference in 5 l: 3954090
Mixed with a Flashcolor ink, this base gives a swollen (3D) effect to the ink after polymerisation. The mixture contains a maximum proportion of 50% base. Usual polymerisation: 2 min. at 160°C. The expanded volume is a function of the mesh used (traditional expansion: 21 threads). It is very important to determine a time and temperature according to your material in order to get the best expansion possible.
Base for shiners Reference in 5 l: 3954096
The shiners are mixed with the base in the following proportions : 80 g of base, 20 g of shiners. The preparation obtained is printed with a screen whose mesh is suited to the size of the shiners (foe example, 21 threads for 100 microns, 10 threads for 200 microns). Usual polymerisation: 2 min. at 160°C.

glue for shiners Reference in 5 l: 3964099 The glue is applied with 14 to 36 threads/cm screens. The mesh count is chosen according to the textile substrate’s absorbency. The print is then sprinkled with shiners. At this stage, a calendaring of the surface increases the adhesion of the shiners. It is polymerised by passing through an IR tunnel (2 minutes at 160°C) or an oven. The screens are cleaned using solvent 2881 or 2899.
gelling AGENT Reference in 1 kg: 3962097 To obtain a high density ink, mix the gelling agent with a Flashcolor ink in a proportion of 0.5 to 2% in weight. It must be agitated mechanically. The mixture obtained can be used after resting for 24 hours (time necessary for thickening).
ELASTIc white Reference in 5 l: 3954000 This glossy ink is used for applications on stretchy substrates.
FLASHCOLOR high opacity white High cover glossy white. The opaqueness depends on the deposit of ink. Usual polymerisation (2 min. at 160°C).

The polymerization speed depends on several parameters, particularly the printed thickness, the opacity, the colour and the type of support, the type and number of UV lights. Due to the various configurations proposed, tests are required before starting prining. The white colour and the tints (containing white) cure more slowly. To obtain a good adherence, the ink must be polymerized correctly. For superposition of layers, the 1st layer must not be overpolymerized. In addition, the adherence between the various colours must be checked from time to time during the process.

The UViprim CV inks are used at standard viscosity or slightly diluted (5 %) and printed with mesh from 150 to 180 fibres/cm. To obtain correct opacity, we recommend you to add from 10% to 20 % of THINNER WHITE to the basic colours. COVERING WHITE or EXTRA OPAQUE WHITE cannot be mixed with other colours and are printed as a single colour. The textured varnish gives a grained finish on front sides and polycarbonate and polyester keyboards. This varnish will be diluted with 10 % of solvent 31960 and printed with a mesh from 77 to 90 fibres/cm. For Priplak® and Akilux® type Corona treated polypropylene, mix the ink with 5% catalyst 3822090 (representing 5% of the ink weigh). Since the Corona treatment has a limited lifetime, please check the surface condition of the substrate before printing.

For superposition of layers, the 1st layer must not be over polymerized. In addition, the adherence between the various colours must be checked from time to time during the process.

The UViprim VY range is intended for printing on rigid PVC, selfadhesive foils, polycarbonate, paper and cardboard.. Good results have been obtained on pre-treated polypropylene like Priplak® or Akylux by mixing the ink with 5% of hardener. The mixture is stable for 12 hours at 20°C.The efficiency of the hardener can be observed 24 hours after printing. Since the Corona treatment has a limited lifetime, please check the surface condition of the substrate before. Ready to use, we recommend a mesh between 140 to 180 threads/cm. To obtain correct opacity, we recommend you to add from 10% to 20 % of THINNER WHITE to the basic colours. COVERING WHITE or EXTRA OPAQUE WHITE cannot be mixed with other colours and are printed as a single colour.
Storage AND Toxicology The UViprim VY inks comply with EN 71-3 standard. Storage duration: 1 year in its original packaging, between 10 and 30°C, stored away from any source of heat and out of direct sunlight. The UViprim VY do not contain vinyl pyrrolidone.

USE UViprim ECO Plus ink has been formulated in order to print on the following sustrates: • vinyl adhesive • paper, cardboard • supple and stiff PVC • treated polypropylen Priplak type (with 10% of hardener 3822090). The new UViprim Eco Plus ink allows multi layer printings without weakening the substrate. Main characteristics are: • ready to use inks • highly glossy • high reactivity • large suppleness allowing the cutting in the ink film • good resistance from outside
The opaque white must be used alone whereas, diluting white can be used with other colourings with a 10 to 20% rate in order to get a correct opaqueness. The UViprim Eco Plus ink is used at delivery viscosity or slightly diluted, with 150-34 fabrics. The line colours polymerise between 20 and 40 m/min on PVC, in 150-34 under an 80 W/cm lamp. On paper, under the same conditions, the passage speeds are halved. As the chemical reaction continues, it is better not exceed 24 hours between each layer. Moreover, adherence between the different colours, sometimes, must be check. The polymerization speeds depends on the thickness deposited, the colour and the type of substrate, the type and number of UV lamps. Due to the various printing configurations, it will better to perform some tests. Good results have been obtained on Priplak® and Akilux® treated polypropylene by mixing the ink with 10% of hardener 3762060. Since the Corona treatment has a limited lifetime, check the surface condition of the substrate before printing. The mix combining the ink and the hardener mix is stable during 8 hours. Adherence and scratch resistance will be obtained after 24 hours (you must make some test before working on long runs of printings).
COMPLEMENTARY PRODUCTS
Photoinitiator 3X6717: it improves the adherence with a better drying depth of the ink film.It can be use with all of the colours excepted the opaque white and the thinner base with a 1% to 5% weight proportions. Photoinitiator 3X8907: it improves the surface’s hardness and allows to increase the brightness. Required ratio : 1% to 4 % of the ink weigh.
Storage AND Toxicology The UViprim Eco Plus inks comply with EN 71-3 standard. Storage duration: 1 year in its original packaging, between 10 and 30°C, stored away from any source of heat and out of direct sunlight.

PROPERTIES
Glossy finish Highly reactive Rheology suitable for high printing speeds Excellent stability in the screen
SUBSTRATE TREATMENT
UViprim FL is formulated to print on PE and PP used in the bottle industry. The surface tension is very low, it is necesarry to flame the substrate before printing (minimum 42mN/m). The surface to be printed needs to be clean without grease particles
UViprim FL is a highly-reactive single-component ink. Under a lamp of 160 – 200 W/cm, the ink cures at a rate of between 2500 and 4000 units per hour. The tape resistance test should only be performed after the complet cooling of the bottle at ambient temperature. The overlaying of colours must be done in line on multicolour printing machine. Adding 5% of hardener (representing 5% of the ink weigh) improves water resistance and solvents resistance, as well as encouraging a better adherence to difficult substrates. The effectiveness of the hardener can be observed 24 hours after printing. The combination of the ink and the hardener mixture stable for 8 hours. The speed of curing depends on numbers of parameters, including the thickness deposited and the opacity, colour and nature of the substrate. Due to the various printing configurations, testing is essential before each new printing run. Screens: The mesh required will be from 140 to 180 threads/cm. Dilution: UViprim FL inks are ready to use. If the viscosity nevertheless needs to be reduced, the required thinners will be: 31960 ( with NVP ): maximum 5% 31965 ( without NVP ): maximum 5%
Storage AND Toxicology The UViprim FL inks comply with EN 71-3 standard. Storage duration: 1 year in its original packaging, between 10°C and 30°C. They must be stored away from a source of heat and out of direct sunlight.

Preparation of ink: This ink is ready to use. However, some adjustments may be necessary according to the conditions for application and the desired aspect: THINNER : 5% maxi. CUTTING BASE: its use in inks to dilute the colour while it increases the transparency and the reactivity of the mix as well. OPALESCENT BASE: its use in inks to dilute the colour while increasing the reactivity and opalescence by transmission with a loss of brilliance. METALLIC INKS: to use the diluting base with our metallic pastes in a 85/15 or 80/20 proportion. The pot-life of the blend is of 4 hours. Choice of the mesh: Directly function of the printing speed and the required opacity. Generally, we will use a 165, 150, 140 down to 120 mesh fabric tended to 16N. The diameter of the wire will be selected to obtain the best compromise between the deposit, the solidity and the definition. Our inks can stand heavy cycles of dishwashing, alcohols tests and G1 test blend.
SUPPORTS AND PRETREATMENTS
The quality of glass and its chemical structure are related to its manufacturing method. Its surface quality will have to be perfect i.e. free from release agent or any other residue (finger marks, dust, grease, silicone etc). Untreated glass: A flame treatment (surface tension > 44 mN/m) according to the UVitro® process (trade mark of ISIMAT GmbH) is necessary to obtain maximum performances. Coated glass: Many glass containers are covered with a water or solvent-based coating to modify the surface aspect (colour, opalescent, scratch resistance…): a flame treatment, right before printing, is then essential to obtain a sufficient surface tension and thus a good adherence.
POLYMERIZATION
Being based on a DUAL CURE system, this ink dries in two steps: under UV light, to obtain a dry ink surface and to authorize the immediate overprinting of it, and with hot air to obtain optimal chemical and physical resistances. UV DRYING: at a printing speed of 3600 prints/h, use a lamp of 180-200W/cm minimum. HOT AIR DRYING: only one 20 min at 165°C passage for the whole of the decoration. The performances of the system are function of the material and the products used. Its industrial validation is imperative before final production run.
Storage and Toxicology The UViprim GL inks comply with EN 71-3 standard.

USE This ink is designed for UV self-adhesive PVC, rigid PVC, polycarbonate, polystyrene, treated Corona Priplak® type polypropylene sheet. 10% of catalyst 3822090 should be added for effective adhesion on certain kind of plastics. The UVprim MS ink is used at a standard viscosity or slightly diluted with mesh in the screen mesh 150 to 180 fibres/cm.
Covering white is used alone as a white ink, whereas the thinner white can be mixed with other colours in a proportion of 10% to 20% to obtain the correct opacity. Fusion temperature speeds depend on the thickness deposited, the colour and the type of substrate, the type and the number of lamps. The colours polymerize between 10 and 20 m/min under a 120 W/cm lamp. The tints containing white, like grey cross-link more slowly. Faced with the variety of plastic substrates, a trial is crucial before going into production.
USE OF CATALYST
Good results have been obtained on Priplak® by mixing the ink with 10% of catalyst. Moreover, on certain polyester or polystyrene adding 10% of catalyst gives excellent adherence. The ink & catalyst mixture is stable for 12 hours. Taking the reaction time into account, you have to wait 24 to 48 hours to obtain the best adherence and nail resistance.

POLYMERIZATION
The fusion temperature speed depends on several parameters, especially the thickness deposited, the opacity, the colour and the type of substrate. Faced with the numerous installations proposed, tests are essential whenever starting to print. The white and the tints containing white colour will cure more slowly. To obtain good adherence, the ink must polymerized correctly. For superposition, the 1st layer must not be overpolymerized. In addition, the adherence between the various colours must be checked from time to time.

For difficult adherence on substrate or when a specific chemical adherence is required (alcohol resistance, petrol resistance, weather resistance) our TAMPOCOLOR ink will be combined with an hardener (representing 5% of the ink weigh). Pot life of the ink will be 8 hours at 20°C. In case of the increase of the ambient temperature, using time will be automatically reduced. Optimal performances will be obtained at least 72 hours after drying. Dilution to 15%. TAMPOCOLOR inks can be mixed together.
Storage AND Toxicology The TAMPOCOLOR inks comply with EN 71-3 standard.

ETCHING RESIST BLACK XE880 Black bituminous ink formulated to print on printed circuits and aluminium. It resist to chemical etching baths and is removable with solvents. To obtain etching resistance, we recommend to print a homogeneous ink film (mesh 90 threads/cm) . Ink will be removed with solvent 4909. It dries at room temperature but a drying at 80°C increases the hardness of the surface and allows mechanical operations before etching (brushing).
