Saint Ksenia is a Canadian accessories brand featuring items printed with original artwork painted by Ksenia Sapunkova. Each piece is first painted by hand using watercolours and is then printed onto silk using an eco-friendly dyeing process.
/ABOUT COLLECTION SS/2018
Morning Dawn, was inspired by that magical time of the day before the sunrise, when the lighting is soft and the world begins to wake. Using subtle colours and soft shapes, Ksenia has managed to create a series that captures the fragility and calmness unique to this special time of day.

First Light was inspired by the soft palette of sleepy flowers before they spend the day craning their necks towards the sun. Depending on the fold, the look can range in intensity from gently feminine in its bottom half to deep and bold, as is most notable in the pigmented splashes seen throughout its centre and top right. This item was hand painted using a mix of watercolour and pastel.

Morning Mauve is the continuation of a love story that began to unfold in our previous collection. Where Marine Amor Bleu from Silken Stories depicts love’s honeymoon phase, the Morning Mauve silk scarf tells of the deep love that is left after its initial flaming passion burns out. The range of dimmed colours and muted tones are meant to showcase the many facets of this beautiful life chapter.

While the colours seen here were drawn from the very first moments after the darkest hours of each day, the themes of this painting were inspired by the rich Japanese culture, as well as the gorgeous landscapes of the East. This bright, colourful, and fun design was created to preserve the feelings that overcame artist Ksenia whilst on vacation in Costa Rica. Another long and large scarf, its shape allows for a distinct set of looks that differ from those of Saint Ksenia’s traditional squares. Although not specific to a certain wearer, its colouration is a perfect pair for pale skin and fiery red hair.
