Support for International Students: Advisors in the Office of Student Academic Services (SAS) offer essential guidance to international students throughout your education at Skidmore, helping you understand:

Nineteen varsity teams participate as members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III. Skidmore is a founding member of the Liberty League.

With 30,000 residents, Saratoga Springs is a safe and friendly location with galleries, shops, parks, coffeehouses, and restaurants. Downtown is a short walk from our private campus and students can also use a Skidmore bike or take the local bus for free.
At any point in time, there are hundreds of Skidmore interns. Even more alumni work in the region in virtually every industry — from finance and health care to tourism and environmental preservation — and offer networking opportunities and support.
Located 50 kilometers north of New York State’s capital, Albany, which is home to an international airport, Saratoga Springs is just a threehour drive to Boston, Montreal, or New York City.

Skidmore annually provides $70 million in financial aid. 98% is awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need: 52% of students receive need-based grants, 55% receive some form of financial aid, and the average first-year package is $56,800. The College offers $80,000 over four years in merit scholarships in music (4 to 6 annually) and science/mathematics (14 to 19 annually). International students applying for aid must file the College Board’s College Scholarship Service Financial Aid Profile.
STANDARDIZED TESTING
For the 2023-2024 application year, applicants have the option to submit an SAT I or ACT score with their application. A strong SAT/ACT score could have a positive impact on an application but you may apply without one.
The TOEFL (96 minimum), IELTS (7.0 minimum) or the Duolingo English Test (120 minimum) are required if English is not the applicant’s first language. Applicants who have attended a high school for at least three years where English is the primary language of instruction or are enrolled in an IB diploma program can have this TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo requirement waived.

An interdisciplinary hub that fosters connections between and among the College’s sciences, arts, humanities, and social sciences, the Billie Tisch Center for Integrated Sciences features flexible spaces — classrooms, research and teaching labs, and the Schupf Family Idea Lab — that will boost creativity and discovery.
