Our Creative Thought Matters philosophy brings together all types of people. And if there’s one thing that Skidmore students share, it’s their ability to bring creative thought to life in their own individual ways.
Some bring this ability with them, and some discover it while they’re here. Either way, an appreciation for creative thought helps you develop a distinctive sense of self. You decide who you want to be— then go for it.

Our stage sets us apart. At Skidmore, this stage is all around you. Student events, exhibitions and performances are a hallmark of our active, creative community, where art bursts into life. Our students find unexpected ways to express themselves and realize their curiosity, whether it’s in the Zankel Music Center, Bernhard Theater, Dance Center, Saisselin Art Center, Schick Art Gallery or the Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery. They collaborate with faculty and each other and find inspiration in classics while also exploring new technologies. The arts find their way into virtually all we do.
Don’t just take our word for it. See how Connor Crawford merged his studies in physics with professional stage and music production at the Zankel Music Center: S K I D M O. R E / C R AW F O R D
