Workplace Learning Strategy That Works:
1) Identify what you want to accomplish and time frame for the same : Most training requirements should lay out in explicit the end result of the program. For example, when we conducted a 3 month workshop on PowerPoint skills for a large manufacturing client, our mandate was to ensure the participants were 100% more confident in using PowerPoint for creating their work presentations. It worked and we delivered on it in the requisite time frame.
2) Understand where you stand vis-a-vis goal - It is important to identify who needs the learning program for the above desired goal i.e. PowerPoint skills. Initially, it was felt it would be requisite for 5-6 team members. However, with some deep dive, the number of participants went up to 21. The participants were at different levels of current skill set and so it was decided to conduct the program for all of them.
3) Identify Evaluation parameters - This is the most important measure to track the success of any learning.
