Note: The attribution to Stephen Badlam (1751-1815) as the cabinetmaker on the present example is based on the crown frieze above the hood door (sometimes inlaid and sometimes a pierced sound fret), the complicated fan inlays on the waist door giving the impression of a rectangular waist door with ovolo cut corners and the inlay configuration in the base being tight to the central decoration and not the outer dimensions of the base. There are several documented examples known. The Willard House and Clock Museum has an example by Aaron branded S Badlam with blind pierced fret, cut corner door, and elaborate inlays.
