ESCAPE THE ORDINARY
We love the endless possibilities that come with the turn of a new year. It’s an opportunity to press Control-Alt-Delete on our lives, make important lists, to stop aspiring and start inspiring. A clean slate means we can be or do anything. This year, we’re going to finally be a hat person. We’re going to sign our daughters up for Girls Who Code and take the class right along with them. We’re going to start that backyard garden, window box herb garden, or keep that lucky bamboo alive past March. Out with the old...in with the new. This is the year we’re going to make time for philanthropy, for regular massages, for weekly dinners with friends, for movies that aren’t at home on Netflix, for lengthy phone conversations with far away pieces of our hearts, for quiet evenings by the fire and forgetting where we put our phones. We’re going to be regulars at 7 a.m. yoga classes, stop complaining about the size of our thighs and start shopping for dresses that show them off, walk more, drive less, and finally buy that adorable beach cruiser bike we’ve had our eye on with a bell on the handlebars to let everyone know we’re coming. The possibility of a new year means that we can scrap all of those abandoned projects and start new ones, wiping the slate clean so we can do more of what we love and less of what we don’t. It’s a new year movement and we’re all in.
