Above all Canary Wharf is a place of modern purpose and beauty, which has brought new life and prosperity into the East End, attracting a new generation of people keen to be p a r t o f a world-famous business powerhouse whilst living only a short distance from the heart of the capital. The Docklands Light Railway will take you to The City in minutes. Or you can take a ferry down river, past the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, the South Bank, The Shard, City Hall and the Houses of Parliament. One of the most significant projects in the capital’s transport history, Crossrail fast-tracks Canary Wharf to a premium location with all the benefits the new route confers, connecting Canary Wharf through the core of the central capital with fast frequent services – as well as to Heathrow in just 39 minutes. The landmark six-storey Canary Wharf station with its sleek shopping mall, spectacular open spaces and Foster + Partners designed rooftop terrace will overlook an area set to benefit from a new level of transport accessibility that will unlock its commercial potential yet further – and add value to the location that becomes an even more desirable location to live. The residential market is already responding to the uplift Crossrail will bring with a maximum forecast growth of 19% by 2020 on house prices and 15% increase in rental yields.*
Above the new Canary Wharf Crossrail station, you’ll find a beautiful surprise – a roof garden and shopping centre designed by iconic architects Foster + Partners. With four levels of shops, cafés and restaurants to choose from, they are topped by public gardens that are partially enclosed by a 300m-long lattice roof. Home to trees, tropical flowers, pavilions and seating, it’s easy to imagine being in a futuristic ship, transporting plants from faraway lands to the docks down below. Nestled within the gardens an amphitheatre has a full programme of music, dance, theatre and poetry performances throughout the year.

EXPLORING CROSSHARBOUR
Crossharbour DLR station
Crossharbour takes its name from the Glengall Bridge, which was built in 1871 to connect the opposite sides of Millwall Inner Dock. The original bridge has long since gone, but its most modern replacement is famed as the backdrop to the waterborne chase sequence in the James Bond film, The World is Not Enough. Today, the Crossharbour area has evolved into one of London’s most contemporary residential and retail districts, with many buildings boasting elegant plazas. It’s a tranquil area, with excellent restaurants lining the inner dock and plenty of good shops nearby. Only moments away, Crossharbour DLR can whisk you to the centre of the capital within minutes. Aerial photograph of Canary Wharf, Millwall Dock and The River Thames with The Liberty Building in the foreground.
A WORLD OF DISCOVERY - GREENWICH A JOURNEY IN TIME When you have some down-time to enjoy, nearby Greenwich is a place that offers so much to discover, learn and experience. The home of the Greenwich Meridian, by which the world sets its clocks, it’s also a World Heritage Site. It’s here you’ll find The Royal Observatory and the Great Equatorial Telescope. The Peter Harrison Planetarium will wow you with its HD projections of real images from spacecraft and telescopes. And the borough’s naval heritage is never far away, with the National Maritime Museum, Old Royal Naval College and the Cutty Sark all there for you to visit.
Photographs depict The Emirates Air Line Cable Car and other local scenes.
Greenwich is about much more than history and seamanship, however. Why not visit Greenwich Market with its eclectic mix of arts and crafts, vintage clothes, antiques and collectables? Or you could explore the nearby independent shops, galleries and boutique eateries. There’s also the only Fan Museum in the country, with a charming collection of 4,000 fans on display in two Georgian houses. Greenwich Park itself is one of the natural splendours of London, and there are few better places to relax with friends, a glass of champagne and maybe food from one of the many quirky street food stalls in the area.
