OUR STORY We began this journey 20+ years ago with The Events Company, an event design and planning company. We had the opportunity to plan events not only in Central New York, but in cities across the US, each time coming home to Syracuse wishing for unique event spaces and creativity with food and beverage using a fresh, local and sustainable mindset.

Then an idea began percolating. The idea of creating a venue that started as a blank canvas mixed with an innovative team that would design, plan, and produce amazing events that were customized to each client, their style and their culture.

As this idea took shape so did our commitment to a downtown location, a customercentric philosophy where anything was possible, a fresh, local and from scratch approach to food, perfect cocktails and a hand selected team who we could train to our level of service and attention to detail.

SKY Armory opened in the fall of 2014 having transformed the former Wells & Coverly upscale men's clothing store into an urban chic event venue that could fit into the NYC, Chicago or LA event scene. Lucky for you, we're here in downtown Syracuse.

We believe that planning an event should be enjoyable.

When you choose SKY Armory you have an event planner dedicated to your details, the special touches and creating an experience your guests will rave about.

The Planning Process Once you've said yes to SKY, you'll experience a series of meetings and events to get you to your wedding day.

The vision meeting is our chance to get to know you as a couple, the vibe you want for the day, what's important to you, and get you on the way to planning your celebration.

Next up is your design meeting . Our design team will help create your look for your day - linen colors, centerpieces, room decor and other personalized touches.

You (the couple) and 4 guests will then attend a tasting event you will experience our food, desserts and cocktails. We will also stage your linen selections, centerpieces and have a sneak peek into what your wedding will look like.

After the tasting event we'll schedule your menu meeting to select your menu including desserts and wedding cake design.

The pre-wedding meeting is the final review of all the details.

We stay on top of the trends and continually bring new items into our our vast inventory of table top and room decor. Our creativity knows no bounds - we find inspiration from the world around us and mixed with our collective ingenuity, some props, flowers, candlelight and voila! Watch what happens.

SKY Armory shined in all aspects of hosting our wedding reception, from the early stages of planning through the very end of the night. The standouts were the decor and food, both of which were customized with helpful guidance by the staff who did an excellent job respecting our budget and tastes. Most importantly during the planning stages, they made suggestions as to how we could shape the menu, bar offerings, cocktail hour, decor, etc. down to every last detail if we wanted to, without any pressure to add any costs we didn't think necessary. There we no inflexible "packages" or "tiers." The featuring of local food and beverage was a highlight for us and our guests as well. We couldn't think of anything that SKY could have done better after the reception was over! - Bride

You may be wondering what we mean by a 'faux' cake - it's the fancy way of saying 'fake' (it just sounds better in French).

What we really mean is that the bottom tiers of the 2, 3, and 4 tier cakes are Styrofoam, finished with frosting or fondant to look like they are real. The top "cutting" tier is real and the layer the couple cuts together to feed to each other.

In our SKYline package we offer a cutting cake which is a 1 tier cake that is the real deal and the perfect size for the couple to cut.

We are happy create a traditional wedding cake where all the layers are real for an additional $4/person.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Attendance We will recommend the event space best suited for your event, based on the estimated attendance and room set requirements.

Event Confirmation & Banquet Event Order (BEO) The event confirmation is a contract that holds the space for your event and stipulates the date and time, room rental fee, food minimum as well as the standard amenities provided.

The BEO is an agreement contract that details selections for requirements and other event needs for a particular venue. It also confirms full costs including food costs, beverage costs, administrative fees & taxes.

Catering All food must be purchased from SKY Armory. We take great pride in our culinary excellence with our approach to fresh, local and made from scratch. We do not allow food to be taken off the premises as we cannot guarantee the food safety once it leaves our facility.

Dietary Requests We are happy to accommodate any request based on medical or other dietary requirements of your guests with a minimum of 72 hours notice.

Beverage All beverages must be purchased from and served by SKY Armory. Bartenders will proof and have the right to refuse alcoholic beverages to any guest who is underage or intoxicated.

Deposits You will be required to make a deposit and sign a contract (confirmation agreement) in order to confirm the arrangements on a definite basis. Your deposit is non-refundable and will be applied to the final balance of the event. A 50% progress payment is due 90 days prior to your event and final payment is due 10 days prior to the event.

Guarantees We do ask that a guarantee count is given 14 days prior and will be the number for which we charge unless the actual count increases. We are not able to charge for less than the guarantee.

Parking SKY Armory is connected to the Clinton Street Garage. We will reserve parking for the anticipated number of cars for events starting at 5:00pm or later. For events during the day we will reserve parking in the Trolley Lot (2 blocks away). Client may opt to pay for their guest parking in either of these locations or require guests to pay.

Gratuity We do not charge a gratuity. If a client chooses a blanket gratuity, 100% of the gratuity is distributed to all staff who participated in the success of your event on hours per event worked basis. Senior managers are never included in a blanket gratuity.

Administrative Fee On all food and beverage functions, there will be a 22% taxable Administrative Fee and an 8% NYS Sales Tax applied to all food and beverage.
