Dear Neighbors, Happy New Year! There was a lot of momentum in the Mission Bay Real Estate market at the end of 2017, and that momentum carried into 2018. The graph below shows the rolling 12 month Median Price/Square Foot in Mission Bay in 2018. There was an upward trend in $/SF from January through June, but then home prices stayed steady at approximately $1,140/SF from July through December. The question is, will home prices remain stable in 2019? $1200

The higher interest rates and increased volatility in the stock market makes for an unpredictable real estate market, but the upcoming changes in the Mission Bay neighborhood may help sustain home prices in 2019. The Warriors will kickoff their first game at Chase Center this Fall, and Uber (headquartered next to Chase Center) is still planning a huge IPO this year. Additionally, the inventory in Mission Bay remains low. There is still a high demand for homes in Mission Bay, and I predict home prices in Mission Bay to outperform other San Francisco neighborhoods this year.
