A Life to Remember

Kenneth Earl Parker, affectionately known as “Kenny” or “KP”, was born on April 18, 1969, at Prince George’s County Hospital in Cheverly, MD to Larry and Dianne Parker. He was the oldest of five siblings and took his responsibility as a big brother very seriously. He was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Highland Park in Landover, MD on December 8, 1991. Kenny went to his eternal home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 20, 2021. Kenny was educated in the Prince George’s County Public School system and graduated from Largo Senior High School in May 1987. He also participated in the barber trade program at Bladensburg Senior High School and continued to cut hair as a hobby. He was the official “map” of Prince George’s County and could give you the quickest route to anywhere. His keen sense of direction was due to his 33 years of working for the Prince George’s County Government Department of Environment Resource Recovery Division as an Equipment Operator II. He was a dedicated hard worker, who took pride in exploring the County, while mentoring his peers and new hires. He also worked for the City of Bowie, City of Berwyn Heights, and First Transit at Reagan National Airport. On December 23, 1997, Kenny and Natalie May brought Kenneth Markell Parker (Little Kenny) into this world. He was proud to become a father, and adored his first-born son. He was a diligent father, always challenging his son to strive for his best. Little Kenny proved to be an exceptional young man as he would grow up to become a sailor in the United States Navy in April of 2019. Everyone knew Kenny was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan at a very young age. He loved football and played for the Bladensburg Boys and Girls Club, in high school, and flag football where he wore #19 with his beloved Canes. He also played kickball with Team Timeout and most recently found a passion for playing cornhole with his friends. His love for sports extended beyond the physical participation. He was an advocate for students’ success and sportsmanship, especially African American males. He assisted several young men by taking them to practices, chaperoning athletic trips, and encouraging them to excel academically. In his downtime, he loved taking family vacations and getaways. He married Alyce Monique Walker on February 18, 2006, and from this union Amaré Jamal Parker was born on April 27, 2006. He also lovingly embraced Ayana Alexis Walker, who he called his “Baby Girl”, as his daughter. Being a father was his greatest accomplishment and his children were his world. Kenny was Amaré’s biggest fan as he supported his many sports games and also served as a coach for the Bowie Bulldogs where Amaré played youth football. Even in his last days, he wanted to know if Amaré’s high school football team, the DeMatha Stags, won the game. Kenny had a smile that lit up a room and kind spirit that everyone enjoyed. If anyone needed an ear, he would listen and would give his last to help a person in need. He left a lasting impression with everyone he touched and will FOREVER BE MISSED! Kenny leaves to cherish in his loving memory his parents Larry and Dianne Parker, brothers, and sister Brian (LaChanda) Parker, Christopher Parker, Justin Parker, and Taunya Parker; grandmother Elizabeth Tolson; uncles Russell (Kathy) Tolson, Jr., Wayne (Dorella) Tolson, Ronald Parker, Michael (Jacqueline) Parker; aunts Sharon Tolson, Yvonne (Larry) Malloy, Kathy (Roosevelt) Roach and Georgette Fortune; nieces and nephews Ninah-Symone Parker, Mia Parker, Jace and Jaylen Parker, and Kayden Williams; loving partner Alyce Walker; and godchildren Jordan McKnight and Bria Malloy. He was preceded in death by grandparents George Francis and Ruth Elaine Parker; Russell L. Tolson, Sr, and several other loving family members. To carry on his legacy Kenny leaves his sons Kenneth Markell Parker (Lil Kenny) and Amaré Jamal Parker in addition to his daughter Ayana Alexis Walker.

Tributes

A SPECIAL MESSAGE TO OUR SON From the day you were born, we knew you were special. Mere words cannot express the void we now feel in our hearts. It is sometimes hard to know why some things happen as they do For so much joy and happiness was centered around you. It seems so hard to comprehend That you are no longer here; But all the happy memories will help keep you near. You bring us so much pride son, With each mention of your name. Even in the face of death, Our love is constant and will always remain We lay an amazing son, devoted father, faithful brother and cherished friend to rest. We give you back to God now, Knowing that you were one of His best. - Love Mom and Dad

A COUSIN’S LOVE

Tributes

My Dear Kenny, You were TWO years older then me and never Stopped letting Me know that growing up. You were The Best older Cousin anyone could ever have!!! From the beginning, You looked out for me and taught me things. Sometimes I think You thought I was one of the Boys. Everything was about football, legos, super heros and go speed racer the cartoon. I can remember coming to your games, when you were younger and watching Your Love for Football grow as you got older. So when the Dallas Cowboys became Your Team, I asked the question, "why them"? You looked at me with your big eyes and said, "I like the uniform and the colors." Then we both laughed and your team became My team. You always had the newest game. I can remember you getting the Atari 5200, so you know I had to have one for Christmas that year. I remember when Derrick M. had the first great grandchild and you said, "that big head is going to be a dad!" We laughed, and both became Bria’s Godparents. Then we had a lot to talk about once we became parents…I became a mom next. Then one year later you became the best Dad Ever! You were so involved, with a mini you. Aunt Linda would always say We were "her Knuckle heads"!!! I will cherish all the memories and tell your children how much fun we had, and all the trouble you would get me in!!! I will Love and Miss You until I see You again in Heaven!!!

UNCLE KENNY

The love I felt from you felt like an extension of my father. Uncle Kenny you consistently made me feel warm every time you greeted me with that high pitch voice calling me "Mone". I knew I could genuinely count on you with whatever I may have wanted or needed, you were always there through every milestone. Im going to miss us joaning, your smile, your starbucks drink, our cabin trips and me hyping you up—there will never be another person as fly as you! You made sure you had a connection with me, this is why i'll always feel connected to you, no matter where I am. I know your love for me surpasses this lifetime and the next one. - Ninah-Symone TO MY GODDAD

Side by side or far apart, “Cousins” are always close to the Heart!

I just want to let you know how much I love you. Thank you for all your love and support throughout my life. You were always there for me rather it was dance recitals, award ceremonies, birthday parties or whatever, you were there. I remember the times when I was younger you would come pick me up to go get me tennis shoes ( Lol…they were always the flyest ones out) then we would always go to eat afterwards. I thank you for just being you. A SUPER GODDAD and I’m so thankful that God placed you in my life, but I’m saddened that he took you away so soon, but I know that you are rejoicing with the Lord and you are free of all pain. That brings me joy. I am surely going to miss you! I will forever cherish our time spent together and all of your calls. It’s just way to hard to say goodbye so I’ll just say I’ll see you later. I love you now and forever! Forever KP!!

On 9/20 when I said my last goodbye…

- From your Goddaughter Bria

I said a prayer for you To thank the Lord above For blessing me with a lifetime of your love.

KENNY

- Your Resse Cup (Charise) “KENNY, A TRIBUTE TO YOU - OUR KIND AND HUMBLE COUSIN”

I thanked god for your thoughtful kindness through the years, And for the closeness we’ve enjoyed In a time of laughter and of tears. I am forever grateful for you in my heart no matter how far we’re apart, And I bless the lord for giving me The best cousin there could be! - Love you Forever, Cousin Nicky UNCLE KENNY Uncle Kenny, your love was like a father’s. I am missing your smile, hugs and your presence. Even though your not here, I will forever hold you in my heart. Seeing you was always an “easy hello” but this is my hardest goodbye. - Mia “Kat”

Thank you for accepting to be our big brother. You treated us with love, kindness and compassion. We enjoyed playing outside, playing video games, Myrtle Beach vacation and spending time just hanging around and laughing with you. Your beautiful smile will always be edged in our memory. We will truly and deeply miss you. - Love you, Natalie and Nikki Washington "DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND WEEP" I am not there, I do not sleep. I am in a thousand winds that blow, I am the softly falling snow. I am the gentle showers of rain, I am the fields of ripening grain. Of birds in circling flight, I am the starshine of the night.

I am in the flowers that bloom, I am in a quiet room. I am in the birds that sing, I am in each lovely thing. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there. I do not die.

- From your Godson Jordan

From Kenny

To my Family, some things I'd like to say But first of all to let you know that I arrived okay I'm writing this from Heaven, where I dwell with God above Where there are no tears or sadness, there is just eternal Love Please do not be unhappy, just because I'm out of sight, Remember that I'm with you, every morning, noon and night That day I had to leave you, when my life on earth was through, God picked me up and hugged me, and said "I welcome you."

From the Family

Perhaps you telephoned to say you're praying for us today. Perhaps you sent a dish of food to nourish us on our way. Perhaps you said a silent prayer that God may see us through. Perhaps you gave us a word of comfort , as only friends can do. Perhaps you made a donation, or sent a consoling card. Perhaps you rendered a service, unseen, near, at hand or from afar. Perhaps you send a message or traveled from miles away. Whatever you did to console our hearts, we will always be grateful, for whatever part you played. - The Parker Family Program Design & Printing by Stephen Fortune | 301-678-9272 | SkyconMedia.com
